at 900+ u can get the kit for the 1000D. Btw it was for grey set at OP

there's this person willing to sell me a 400Dbody for $550 and the flash for another 100.
But my friend told me not to get because she saw a 450D at last years IT fair for 800.

i do believe your friend might have seen wrong. As of 08 comex it was going for around 1299? There abouts. (correct me if I'm wrong)

At the rate of inflation and additional event costs, I dont think they can offer 450D for that price. Again, a lot of freebies might tag along. If you need them, and will use them.

This price for 400D, 2nd alright to start off if you have a tight budget, no harm.

Im only a student, so im like cash strapped.

Like I said, get the 2nd hand if budget is tight and want to own a DSLR. Use it earn some pocket money perhaps, rent some lens if need to.

Well if your parents are buying it for you go with the 450D If not and you really really really want a DSLR and can't wait you can go with the 2nd hand option, Lastly you can save abit more and get a new DSLR with your hard earned money. It basically comes down to whether you want or need it.

i have no experience in third party flashes. But if it's a canon 420EX onwards should be ok, just check if the swivel is not broken or anything.

Arh ha, the mgp is not really important, we only need about 8mgp to develop 8R. Live view make some sense lah. Similarly why we chose 450D over 1000D, not plainly on the additional 2.1 mgp.
