I am thinking about that also.
For the part II, I think that we have spent more time for some OT topics.

That might be good idea.
But I think that not only those who attend but also those who share their photos with us at either Flickr or here.

I second this idea.
More organised club will be better for outing arrangement and better sharing of information.

Maybe we can have different kind of shoot outings like candid shoot, landscape, TFCD etc.
We can also have a pictures sharing outing only.
Then we can know each other through the picture sharing outing cum meeting everyone photography interest.

i agree with everything u said. i think if we have enuff ppl can actually start formalizing things and delegating jobs.

Meeting Point- SBG Entrance Tanglin Gate (Napier Road)
Meeting Time - 1pm>>>SSS starts from Tanglin Core to Central Core>>> 1pm-2.30pm*

>>>SSS@ JBCG 3pm* to 5pm*

*tentative timing

Not neccessary, but no harm for those have macro lens or wants to shoot insects etc. The motive is to get together, exchange ideas and fine tune on each other shooting skills. Allow me to elaborate on JBCG: Booths available selling products for fund raising. Children playground, having fun at the mini gardening area. Good for portraits and short range landscaping too. Does this helps to understand better?

Seems like a good event for meeting different kind of photography preferences.
It is too bad that I cannot attend this event.
I am now still processing my photos taken @ last outing.
Will share them out once I have completed some.
Having tight work schedule recently :(

wow, just one evening only the old thread burst liao...

anyway im going to raffles city to collect my MO items this sun and then going to marina barrage with a couple of frens and my gf for shoot in the afternoon so cant join u guys at SBG.

to be honest, i think our 'club' is very big...full of 'members' but in terms of photoshoots we arent really attending due to (as eleventh said) commitments elsewhere. i agree with suggestions to formalise this and to make this a proper group of shooters who actually are interested enough to meet up, shoot, and critique on a regular basis. i have a couple of suggestions:

1) have new guys attend at least one shoot to be inducted into the club.
2) organise shoots at least once a month and appoint ppl who attend most outings as administrators or leaders
3) setup a proper internet chat location so that this thread doesnt burst within one week, so that the thread can be used for informing members about shoots and upcoming events.

just some ideas off the top of my head. personally i would like to see a serious club form so that everyone can benefit from it.

I second your idea.

Paperseal, I have one suggestion for members list.
It might not be so good for only using only the Flickr group member lists as our club members list.
This is because some of the users might not be the Flickr members.
Somemore, some of the Flickrs group members do not share the photos or attending the outing at all.
Shall we continue to post the member list for those who are active in the Flickr group and also those who shares photos here?

hmm..like dat we can get the few siao on one to meet up and form a committee..:)

3in1c>>at least 1 attendance, not limiting to SSS per month.
2) organise shoots at least once a month and appoint ppl who attend most outings as administrators or leaders
3in1c>>at least 1 attendance a month for 3 consecutive months.

No issue bro. Thanks for replying and suggestions. We also need to consider our identity as a "club" so that the entry requirements make sense. Minimum logistics and administrative work. Add in red above.

Lets not diversify becos photos are our efforts, which is a priority resource. Perhaps we just post here, for those have flickr, they may do so. Duplication is ok.

Sure thing ;) Just doing my part in the community.

great review zexun. im impressed by your systematic writing and objective criticism of the tripod. in fact im quite impressed by your contributions to the forum in general. if i didnt read the other forums, i wouldnt know you are still studying! great work lad, you have a bright future ahead of you if you keep going this way.

Your idea is quite fair for entry requirements.
Must attend at least one session within 3 months.
I suggest that we should not only consider those attending shoot outing but also consider those who attend the photo sharing outing sessions.
How do you guys think about that?

i think getting a flickr account is very easy...we should prob make our serious members get one (not the pro one). i like the additional points 3in1c posted. totally agree. as i said, need to fine tune the admin and put in house rules so that at least the enthu siao on ones can really benefit.

You loh! Those of you veteran in this thread should form the committee. The rest may join as pioneer members under special scheme....hahaha me lah. Once the "official launch", formal registration is required per terms drafted.

 i think it depends on what they are sharing during the sessions...imho i'd prefer members to share pics taken during photoshoots since participants are aware of the actual conditions during the shoot itself and are better positioned to give feedback.

No lah, min 1 session per month. Consider 8 weekends per month, 1/8 is 12.5% attendance. I agree with you.

In other words, happen that one didnt SSS that day but turn up for sharing is considered attendance. Why not? Its the spirit that counts!! And we need that.

Haha, do you remember our first outing which only had 3 members joining? [paperseal, you and me]
A committee idea is good for organising the club.
So do you want to start the committee first?
I can join that if the meet up is on weekend.
