Canon Powershot S95

Thanks napalmdog, but would prefer a proper neckstrap instead of trying to put bits & pieces together & end up damaging the cam instead

Thanks anyway :)

Can use a lanyard?
I'm using 1 from my old camera.

I tried using a lanyard last week but its very damaging with a lobe sided camera flinging around...S95 isnt very lightweight on the lanyard too

Gubby : a colleague bought it from the website before...its darn flimsy and the string is VERY thin. There are rips in the strings within a week.Do not buy if you are intending to

Ooo... I'm not intending to.
My old lanyard works fine.

Yea sad... good camera but Canon's accessory attempt is retard...:thumbsd:

I just got my S95 but I notice an issue. When the camera was power off, the display can be turned on by pressing the 'play' button. When the camera was kept inside the hard case which given by canon, the 'play' button can be accidentally being pressed and the turned on the display unnoticed. Anyway to disable this function?

Speedwagon, thanks for informing. I didn't know that until I tried out just now but I did notice that you need to press a while on the 'play' button before it swtich on itself. I'm not sure how your cam can get turn on when it's inside the hard casing as I do not see anything protruding. You can of course set the power save mode I believe. Anyway, enjoy ur new cam..

does any of their s95 have any clicking sound when it is in the auto mode?

I keep on hearing the clicking sound from the camera? normal?

i think its due to the Auto ISO mode.

Hi all,

Need your expert help! Am planning to buy a new camera, mostly to take pictures of my two-year old daughter. The dilemma is between the S95 and Ixus 300 HS. I know the Ixus is just a point and shoot camera, but I read that the 200 HS has a faster shutter speed than the S95 - is that right? Forgive me as I am not very knowledgeable about the technical aspect of photography, but I am trying to decide which one is better for taking fast moving objects.

I noticed really nice pictures taken by the S95 on this thread, but they are mostly non-moving objects. Can someone post some pictures of fast moving subjects? I really want to buy the S95 but am just worried about this aspect.

Thanks all!

My friend is looking for the original S95 case, is there such a casE?

chipdale : so far I have not seen or heard of an original S95 casing from Canon. When I bought mine,I was given a ridiculous Ixus casing that DID NOT fit the S95

Thanks Renie. I share the same sentiments as you. The ixus casing is meant for IXUS model & not powershot.

Mine can fit in.
The hard case right?
With zipper.

Its ugly, but no choice until I find a nice casing.

This looks not bad. Selling at Canon?

must be careful when using this case i think. It has a metal button that you need to press down, and the position of the button seems to be right around the flaps protecting the lens. I guess it can be used with care, just may not be able to close with one hand.

Oic, I thought that the button is a magnetic catch.
