Hmm.. how did you lost it... Perhaps you can share so we can have a lesson learnt.

i think was dropped when i ran ard the airport taking pictures of the A380 (intern there, so i have access)
must have depressed on the button and the constant movement must have loosened it

err....Lens Hood is the funnel shaped thingy that you attach to your lens or lens adaptor when you take photos in bright light to minimise glare and sun flare. The original S2 IS lens hood is made of hard plastic, but other lens hood around might be in rubber form that you can extend when needed.

The plastic cap with the word "Canon" printed on it is the lens cap.

I have bought the adapter as below made from aluminium. Fix OK with my S2. Have no time to test up the fix the UV and filter yet

Hi, I am newbie too !

For information, i just picked up my Powershot S2 with 256meg SD+SD Card reader at MS color for S$850 after reading thru the posting her Not fantastic price, gotta add another $105 for an unbranded 1Gig card.

The only thing cheap is probably the Lowepro AW bag i paid for $29 at CP after some bargain.(original $57)

Well, still gotta buy another GP battery..

I was there at Sitex, ha. Just didn't realised that i will end up a S2 after reading the forum.
Did cross my mind that Harvey Norman deal can be so good !

Ha, guess it's good to hold on to the bargain at Exhibition too..But remember to do your price
research beforehand

Anyone know how to reduce the star effect from direct lightings at night? (with long exposure) - i was thinking that maybe a star effect filter can minimize size of the "fat" star. Anyone has a star effect filter to try it out on their S2? Please advise.

(ps: Guess this seems to be the appropriate thread to ask questions abt the Canon S2IS. )

Can buy other brands besides Canon. Bought the EmoBlitz 328 from MS Color and it could swivel left, right and up down. Plus it could set for wide or tele too.

Hi,

There's no better time to buy a digital camera coz the waiting cycle never ends. Anyway, the S2 was launched around 6 months ago and it should be another 1 year before they will launch a new model.

I don't think S3 will be out so fast as the S2 was launched in June 05 only. Maybe 6 to 12 months from now. $850 for the S2 is a great deal now. Check with:
