I bought a lens from Johan photo. Was told that it's a international warranty.
So can bring to singapore CSC. The shop is in Malaysia.

Canon Malaysia reduced its RRP, prices for lens & bodies are dirt cheap now in MY!

Yea, lucky you.
Canon already announce a stop to international warranty on lenses starting from last oct.
@Conan86: the thing about buying in Msia since the price is similar to HK is that when you need to send in for warranty, you dont have to buy an air ticket.

International warranty with receipt from overseas shop = covered as long as no physical damages etc etc.
If no international warranty is the same as a local out of warranty set..

that's why i proposed a group trip like maybe 5-7 people depend on the type of car and go in together..
passengers should fork out certain amount to cover the petrol cost..
with many people going in,it should be safer..
but must make sure that the shop has got all the things everybody wanted rather than shuffling around..
most important the price must be justifiable..
iam pretty interested actually..

I think we should consolidate a list of interested parties and when it comes nearer to the date,
we will depend on how many confirmed person and decide on the transportation(like how many cars needed)..
we will try to squeeze in maximum number of people a car can carry..
those who are willing to drive in can state that u will be driving..
and also pls put down the item(s) you are interested in so that we can consolidate the quantity for each item and negotiate on the price..
Objective of this trip:
1).Malaysia price dip on canon products.
2).More people going in to reduce the risk of danger being imposed.
3).More people buying so we might be able to lower the prices.
4).Making new friends and share some photography tips.

From what I know their price is negotiable, just get a quote and push the price further. Will call up the boss to inform him we are coming and check ready stock! I can only provide up to 5seats. (TBC) if more cars are needed, can get more relative who stay there, around 20RM per pax( to and fro johan photo) I dun really like taking stranger cab within JB, they will take chance to chop u up for high price but short distance.
But If your want to take an easy way back home. there is also cab available from JB custom back to sg, around $10-15 per pax, directly back to your house! This one I have taken before.

Below is the quote i get for those lens. It runs in the sequence as above and all are in RM.

Msia offer 1+1yr warranty and it's nearest service centre is roughly 20mins drive from Causeway. The best exchange rate that i can find while driving around today, 23 Mar is $237.50 in Taman Sentosa.
