Hi Guys,

Looking to get my first dslr. Copletely new to Dslr. Was looking a Nikon D60 but was intro to 450d.

I am looking at an entry level dslr. Mostly for taking pics of my baby girl and general photos.

2 shops i went to said nikon produce better pics. But d60 does not have liveview.

So is this a good camera for entry level? Need your opinions. was quoted 1060.

Thanks!
I'll do a review for you tommorrow if possible. Because i tested those 2 cameras like a million times, before i chose the Canon 450D.

hi all! haven got a chance to introduce myself to all you guys after getting a 450d about 3 weeks ago? =)

i have a question that have been bothering me quite some time. i will be bringing my camera to malacca this weekend. however, i would like to know how to take photos in the afternoon, without the sky overexposing and the person underexposing?

i know an easy way would be to reposition the person so that the sun is not behind the person. are there any other alternatives? from my reading, can make use of GND filter? am i right?

Just wanted to know how you all use an external flash with your 450D

I have a 430EX and what I do is to use it in Manual mode with the flash bounced off the ceiling.

Is there a better way of using the external flash. Ie can the 450D be set so that I can shoot on AV mode without the shutter speed being too slow?

What would be great is when I shoot on AV with external flash, I can adjust the aperture and the camera will automatically adjust the shutter speed taking the flash into consideration before shooting.

The other question I have is, what WB mode do you all shoot with when you are indoors with tungsten light and flash? When I use AWB, I find it still comes out too red. When I use the tungsten setting the colour looks too blue and when I custom WB, the colour also looks too blue. I end up doing post processing to cut down on the red and increasing the blue. Is there a better way?

Is the 50D better in respect to both of the above?

Anyone can reply these 2 query bor??

Ninja boy, can u?

Eh...hmmm, i'll use EV settings for the exposure. Not too sure about this. I've not used a flash before.

First one i reply liao.... :)

Try to use Flash to compensate... if got ext flash, good..... else built in flash can marginally do it.

thanks jlkk76 for bringing up my query. Was reading through 3 pages of stuff and realise that my query was not answered.

I read in another thread whereby i was asked to meter for the sky and use the built in flash for fill in. I have the OEM built in flash diffuser to help reduce the effect of the flash. Is there anything else I can do to make the photo nicer? as in any camera settings to adjust? thanks!

It is expected to be like that.
Very busy recently, I will most likely skip all the outings for this month.

Hi, ive got the tamron 17-50mm with my 400d and was looking for a 10-20mm and a 28-135mm.........but wouldnt a teleconvertor and a wide convertor be a cheaper investment initially since im an amateur. Do these accessories take decent pics with my tamron f2.8? with a teleconvertor what happens to a fixed aperture like f2.8 lens? does it become f5.6 using 1x2 convertor. Anyone heard of a macro ring/filter/convertor
