Which plate do you need. Your tripod head can fit any type of plates? I'm going down to John 3:16 on wednesday. I'll check it out for you, if you give me the details.

Expensive doesn't equate to "God-Like" lens.

IS and USM are technologies that made the lens much efficient and user-friendly. Wide aperture (low aperture value) helps photographers to take picture in low-light condition. Of course it works with a combination of ISO and other factors as well.

Hm...., no worries, we'll spread the "BBB" love to you and you'll be buying more lenses! Who knows we might have to borrow some lenses from you!

the tamron 17-50 is a good and sharp lens but you must choose carefully. I have wanted to buy the tamron but in the end choose a used canon 17-55mm..

i went thru' the struggle btw canon or tamron, guess i'll try out tamron first before plonking for a canon, and i think both lens holds their 2nd hand value pretty nicely also. but tamron, goto do a bit more check, read alot of issues for this. but then again, only the bad one gets mentioned on forums while those happily using usually won't come forum and complain or tell ppl lens bought was good. heh.

i bought the nikon one last year got ripped off for 60 bucks lost my plate last month in sarawak
the canon my seller gave me when i bought the 450d but he ignored me now that i asked for it.

Those are rip of tripods. I could have sold you my brand new, well taken care tripod at $20.

They are weak....if you extend the centre column, with my current setup, it'll just come crashing down. All right for a PNS. The head is not good at all.

Well, i'll check out for you. But if you really want it. I can sell you mine, together with the tripod. Can't sell you just the plate, then i'll be stuck with a useless tripod.

or any other longer ranged and cheapo lens to recommend?

i tink i need it tis friday to shoot yang chen lin

oh ya...i just thought for sigma 70-300. hv to call them to chk b4 i go down.

Try this 75-300mm....not much of a difference from that lens.

The difference is rather significant if you're comparing EF 75-300mm against Tamron or Sigma 70-300mm. Quality, range and macro ability is nowhere near Tamron or Sigma.
