frankly speakin, I dun recommend gettin OEM hood cos their quality not dat gd.

If u wanna buy SDHC card, go get it during IT show, much cheaper.

Ohya, get Sandisk Extreme III....

well, i'm still a WIN person, reason gettin it due PP better in MAC...not too sure true bor..
Correct....get during the I.T show...March, Suntec city....get around the 3rd or 4th day...prices drop like coins...haha...Don't get the cards direct from Sandisk booth, you can save some money at other shops in the I.T show...like best bargain. But don't expect service.....expect the tag line "What you want"...haha

MACs are the best for PP bro...not windows...it just hangs there when even playing Gun bound....haha

jlkk, actually i've always been thinking, how would a "better" hood be of more advantage then an OEM one ah? other then the Canon word on the hood? e hood for my 10-22 is $60+ hor?

for SD cards, noted, thanks for all the advices SHIFUS! :p

if getting mac, and for us running PS and dealing with images, do rem to pump up the RAM to the max for maximum performance ;)

i was comparing 3rd party hood with the canon one.. and i got the canon one straightaway.. coz 3rd party one like harder to put on the lens so scared will damage it

yeah my RAM's up to 4gig liao but still sometimes find it a big laggy...

My newest laptop i bought at sitex is an ASUS laptop with 2.5GHZ, 4GB ram.....would like to use mac for school, but then i'll have to install windows again....the processor and ram are important, but do look at the FSB rating as well. FSB...Front Side Bus + the cache...these affect the performance as well. Macs usually have a high FSB and cache, that's why they are designed for hard usage.

Original hoods are way better and more expensive. I recently bought a hood for my kit lens....feels like crap and so tight to fit on my lens, that i don't wish to use it at all. Trying to sell it off. Unused...brand new.

got cap for budget la...

:bsmilie: BBB!

duno leh.. somehow their backpack doesn't appeal to me.. guess shopping and seeing the bags physically wld be better.. tho' quite scary if no homework was done before hand
:bsmilie: Doesn't have to be appealing to you. Those appreciate its design will "wow" at ya.

think my mac is slow as its 4 MB shared "on chip" level 2 cache, a 667 MHz frontside bus.. think my RAM can only max to 2GB.. slow.. :( no wonder i literally have to WAIT for PS to load, Open image, SAve etc..

hmm. then the original hood is up for serious considerations. initially, i thought its just a plastic piece in front of ur lens, how different can it get, somemore the price is x2 (AGAIN). thot it applies same logic for getting a 3rd party's BG :p

:bsmilie: u r one BBB love spreader!

yup, going get 3rd parties for the hood (ya, just saw the MO for the 77mm), CPL i might get a hoya, but seems like CP is OOS. prob try somewhere else. SD card.. aiyah, anywhere can get hor. SLS a bit "off" for me, so might just get it at some computer shops etc. :P

:bsmilie: For the lens hood, you can take a look at here. Its sold by PQ23, also Clubsnap member. ;)

Well, considering the price difference that you pay to other shops than those in SLS (provided you know which shop to get), I think SLS is still better. :)

RAM's cheap. ;) Do check out the highest capacity your system can support.

As for the cache, its acceptable so nothing too bad. :)

These 3rd party hoods are the better types. But got to look at the actual thing to say. Haha.

If I remember correctly, for the past few IT events held, the prices were of very little difference than the retailing price.

:bsmilie: But too bad none of these things can be tested prior to purchase since upfront payment is required.
