i feel weird too. i know its a good lens, er hmm.. probably when i weigh how much i'll be using this then that gets me stressed  i don't travel much thus prob the thought of under utilising this lens bah?

it wont be under utilized if you use it. Anyway it's not only for landscapes/travel :) so don't stress yourself over it.

The photos of the outing thread is up and will be updated by those who went by tonight I hoped.

long time no see man. Where you mia too. :bsmilie:

Yup, long time no see.
I am busy with my job recently and not really have mood for SSS.
Since this week I am not going back to JB,
I got time to join this outing lo.
It is quite fun as I have never tried this kind of free photo taking service before.
Thanks to Ryan and Jimmy for organising.

hi guys, did everyone have a gd time sss today?

hai. wanna ask for opinion, i know i might get blasted for being too rash in spending $, but oh well, what's bought is bought, can't change the fact. i've actually goton a canon 10-22, gave it a day's test, but somehow, i think i miss the longer range of the zoom. currently only have the kit+50mm. i duno why i succumb to getting this then e tamron i've set out to get! i think friends was coaxing and questioning me why i'm getting a tamron that overlaps w my kit. argh. now i'm in dilemma as to if i shld just let go of this 10-22 :( its a good lens, no doubt, but probably ... if sincerely ask myself, maybe not my cup of tea. waste $

no cry lah...it a gd lens wor...the best among the UWA.

:bsmilie: Must have took a lot photos of GMAN huh?

quite a few nia...cos he often avoid the cam

no thank...u shld see wat i do when i'm alone lor... :bsmilie:

Originally I was looking at 100-400mm L. But it seems that the Tokina 80-400mm is a good alternative to that and price wise, fraction of L. ;)

any idea how much tokina 80-400mm cost?? i think i'm a range addict haa..

hmm, in actual fact, one of my friend has the tammy 17-50, but he had kindof left this lens in his cabinet for a while now. he claimed a UWA + 24-105L is sufficient and that i should not waste $ in the tammy (that is discounting the longer range say till >200mm)

guess i was really impressed at the WIDEness of this lens and thought it would really be nice to have "everything" in when you are framing your pictures.

anyway, if there's any consolation, these are the shots taken http://www.flickr.com/photos/xhui/ super noob pictures w minimal PS done.

or maybe i'm just missing the close up zoom after a whole day of Wide shots....

i saw ur pics. hmm...u can try taking street shots or sun set/rise shots with wide angle. i think it'll look nice. thats something a tele lens cant caught IMO.

Not really sure but should be at 1K range.

Perhaps those know know the exact price can quote on it.

yeah, much to learn IRT to this lens still. guess will continue exploring and broaden mindset of how a UWA can be better utilised!

No prob. It's a great time out there with you guys.

The idea by Jimmy was great.

If only we had more time, we could have did a light painting of Happy Valentine's Day. Well, on the street of Orchard Road is kinda hard.

Dun worry man. 10-22 is a fantastic UWA. IMO, it's the best but too bad its for cropped bodies only.

I guess that lens will stay with him for quite some time since he just started off with 450D. :)
