Wow! Stalker leh. 80-400mm..

I tried my friend's 70-300mm already damn far liao... coz my furthest is only 50.. :embrass:

Went to MS today to ask about 55-250. Was quoted $360. No $$$

Originally I was looking at 100-400mm L. But it seems that the Tokina 80-400mm is a good alternative to that and price wise, fraction of L. ;)

hi guys, did everyone have a gd time sss today?

hai. wanna ask for opinion, i know i might get blasted for being too rash in spending $, but oh well, what's bought is bought, can't change the fact. i've actually goton a canon 10-22, gave it a day's test, but somehow, i think i miss the longer range of the zoom. currently only have the kit+50mm. i duno why i succumb to getting this then e tamron i've set out to get! i think friends was coaxing and questioning me why i'm getting a tamron that overlaps w my kit. argh. now i'm in dilemma as to if i shld just let go of this 10-22 :( its a good lens, no doubt, but probably ... if sincerely ask myself, maybe not my cup of tea. waste $

The 10-22mm is from B&S or brand new?

Well, perhaps you should point out the difference between the kit lens and Tamron 17-50mm? Guess its pretty obvious. :)

brand new! sigh, i can only blame myself for being so fickler minded and not stick with my rationale. :(

:o Guess you're gonna have a hard time selling it off without incurring much loss.

Which shop you bought it from? Perhaps can ask for change of lens etc?

Wow! That's 1 good lens man! I am a wide angle person, and I would gladly buy this lens from you. But the main problem is that I have no $$$. Do you mind installments? Haha..

My suggestion would be that if you are not in a hurry to sell this lens, then maybe you can hold on to it for a while to try it out in different places? Coz I have seen great shots with this lens.

Can I ask a question? Hope it is not offending. Do your friends know the beauty of a F2.8 lens?

hmm, in actual fact, one of my friend has the tammy 17-50, but he had kindof left this lens in his cabinet for a while now. he claimed a UWA + 24-105L is sufficient and that i should not waste $ in the tammy (that is discounting the longer range say till >200mm)

guess i was really impressed at the WIDEness of this lens and thought it would really be nice to have "everything" in when you are framing your pictures.

anyway, if there's any consolation, these are the shots taken http://www.flickr.com/photos/xhui/ super noob pictures w minimal PS done.

or maybe i'm just missing the close up zoom after a whole day of Wide shots....

Actually you should have considered it carefully on what type of shoots (landscape, portrait, macro etc) you're into before you purchase any lens.

As always, advice should be used for reference only. :)

Your friend's perception might just be the opposite of yours though.

an expensive lesson learnt. now to decide if should just let go or keep for a while and try using it again.

Since you've bought it, just use it. Who knows you might eventually like landscape shots. ;)

uwa is da bomb. Since you've already gotten it, you should make use of it, who knows after time it'll grow on you.

I use my 17 - 40 the most. Although sometimes, sometimes only i wish i had something longer. hehe.

Woo. Back from the SSS. Great time with 450D Club people and a few Nikons and of course our very famous GMAN.

The outing was fun. Pictures will be up tonight. Stay tuned for pictures. ;)

:bsmilie: I wonder why you felt so stressed/bad over getting such a good lens.

:bsmilie: Not really. You can take pictures (wider angle than kit lens) in limited space too. That's the point of having a UWA lens. ;)
