EF-S lenses fit Crop sensor bodies like the 450D, 40D, 50D. Namely speaking XXXD or XXD bodies. Some really old crop sensor bodies won't be able to take on EF-S lenses.
EF lenses only fit on Full Frame sensor bodies, like the 5DMark II. EF-S lenses do not fit on Full Frame sensor bodies. However, you can fit EF lenses on to crop sensor bodies.

Also, most of today's Canon lenses, have Auto Focus function in them. That means, that most Canon lenses have a motor in them to aid Auto Focus.

There is no motor in Canon DSLR bodies. This method is used so that your lens can have AF in any other camera body used, and not rely on the camera body to auto focus.
Canon DSLR bodies do not have anti shake function, but rather, their lenses are equipped with this function. Look out for Canon lenses with the IS function. IS standing for Image Stabilization. Similar to Anti shake function on Sony DSLRs, or Nikon's Vibration Reduction lenses.
