And to add... you will never want to walk around with a 70-200. :bsmilie:

not really...i used a non IS as a walk ard b4 lor..but of cos the distance gonna take some time to get used.

haha what is a 70 200mm good for?

bro...it seem like u really noe nuts abt lens, i suggest that u do a search field or google online for it lor.

Mainly for events and portraits, at least that's how I use mine. :)

Talking about that, lately been using my leader's 70-200 f/2.8 to shoot in church. Man, he's really making my hands itchy.

I see. I've yet to try out f/2.8 ones. Been using my 70-200mm f/4 L for outdoor and some indoor with flash, am loving it. ;)

I somehow need that f/2.8 cos I'm into night photography too. Just that contemplating when the time comes, should I get the IS or Non-IS version. My hands do not shake that much also.

I'm no where near there. Haha. I think i'll stay put for the moment. After NS, i'll get my 5D markII, Haha...then i'll buy all the L lenses. Right now. No money to fund such things. Haha.

GMAN

Those are cheaper alternatives. ;)

Actually the Sigma one looks good. I saw some 1 using it and didn't notice it was a 70-200 until I went close-up. Pretty good camo as its black while the Canon one is white. Haha.

Well, the peeling issue is the darn point of it. On the other hand, Tamron 70-200 f/2.8 looks good. :D

Ic. Had never physically touch the Tamron or Sigma but always touch the Canon. ;p

kit means the camera body comes with lens....

so meaning if i buy the body, i must get a lens separately before i can start shooting?

if so, is getting the kit set better or is getting the body and a specific lens better?
juz fyi, never touched a dslr before. thinking of taking nice scenery and portrait pictures.

I bought it with a kit at $1135. Spending of accessories will never be able to check as the buying never stops.

In the world of DSLR, you will never stop spending unless you give up on photography totally. =)

wow, with kit $1135 is cheap. 1st hand? where you got it?
i saw the list u posted (here)for the lens price guide and almost fainted. a len can cost up to US$7k+!! no way i'm gonna get it haha. can only settle for those cheap cheap ones.

Yes, if you are new to DSLR then kit lens is good enough....once you are more comfortable then maybe you can upgrade to better lens
