Should be still using the same 7 pt AF as on the old 300D body. See this link: http://www.pma-show.com/review/canon/002_EOS_digital_rebel_xt.html 3rd pic from the top, shows the 7 pt. AF pattern on the focusing screen.imaginary_number said:Btw, I did not manage to read any info on the AF system though - anyone knows if it's using the 20D's 9 pt AF or is it still on the 7 pt AF?
nightwolf75 said:yep. almost the same, but half the speed. but, darn... still no spot metering?

Ivan11 said:The body seems plastic like 300D and not those magnesium alloy kind, at the back of the cam it is also not the same turning knob unlike the 10d/20d, the mode knob on top looks like the Minolta 7D type. Would still prefer the 20D over this.
nightwolf75 said:no. i was right. the new 350D has the same partial metering as found the 20D (which is 9% at centre; same as 10D). this is not spot metering.
if u wanna talk abt true spot metering, its something like D70's 1% of frame. see the specs at dpreview for comparison. this is a major bugbear among 10D and 20D users who crave for true spot metering as found in the 1-series bodies.
