Yeah, this was one time that my have money face was useless, quoted me $3.3K. Walked around a little more and found one for $2.8+K!

Out of stock AND there is a waitlist...

Heh, posted in #146 already. Very poisonous article...double whammy cause it raised QC issues about the Tammy version which I am also mulling over but now having serious doubts.

You mean at TK? 2 pieces came in, i took one and another gentleman took the other. According to Richard, the other lens disappeared barely half an hour after it arrived.

This is seriously one of the best zooms i have ever used. Really looking forward to utilizing it for my upcoming trip to Europe because it's so much lighter and packs a whooping solid image quality.

Yes. You mean you were a walk-in customer? Or were you on the waitlist?

Waitlist of sorts. I was lucky that 2 had arrived instead of 1. This and the 1DX make the entire set up a really wonderful combo for travel. I could really carry this the entire day and not sacrifice that much on image quality, while having a versatile range to work with.

TK's price is really nice as well. Unlike CP, who probably thinks I am a carrot head and anyhow quoted my CFO prices.

Wah, isn't a 1DX and this lens still a very heavy combo for travel?

Nope, the mk ii to me feels much lighter than the mk i. Even my CFO could tell the difference. My colleague was also surprised as well at my plans, but changed his mind when he saw the mk ii in person (He has the mk i) That aside, my 5D2 is fitted with a RRS L plate and has a battery grip so it actually weighs heavier than the 1DX itself. The ergonomics of the camera itself is a huge plus and it's very easy to shoot both vertical and horizontally. I hated shooting in vertical mode because it was so darn hard to select AF points on the 5D2. I initially had planned to just bring the 35L over there.

Planning to use the high ISO capabilities of the 1DX when it's needed in Europe as I'm headed there December. So that can compensate for the few stops that the 35 can offer with it's 1.4 capabilities...and best of all, I don't lose out much in terms of IQ and gain in versatility. It's fricking sharp!
