Any camera will cost peanuts in time.

But i think this current line of cameras will drop much lower later on, while the battle of the ISO heats up. You can see the D700 is like the mininum standards of the new lines of camera. Atonishing noiseless high ISO

If I had waited, I save $400.
But I would have had to do a 10-day holiday plus various other events on my 300D.
I am not a heavy user, but the couple of thousand shots I took since I bought my 400D is worth the $400.

Maybe my 40D will be worth $500 in 12 months time, well, no money can buy me the lost time.

A huge jump from 300D to 40D. Worth it. More accurate AF, AI servo, 3" LCD, less-noise high ISO ... are the most important gains to me.

My Canon 300D was S$1600+ in 2004. 20D was 2K+. Now the difference between xxxD and xxD is really small .....

WTH! I checked with CP today and was quoted $1460 for body alone. No photoframe as free gift, only 2GB CF and 1 photobook. What the crap! Do I look loaded???
