Well.. they have a habit of drastically cutting prices before a launch... and the next model is due in Feb 09. :think:

True. It's either we wait for the announcement in 2 months' time, or we wait til next feb/march for another announcement. Meaning that it'll come out in Dec this year or July/Aug next year.

Note that the recent price drops of the 40D is together with the price drops of every other Canon camera out there, and not just the xxD series alone. It surely has gone down about 20% from its original price last year till early july, but that's like every other camera out there. It depreciates fast.

loose its value that fast... it wasn't this way, years ago during the 35mm era.

Come to think of it.. we really need to consider carefully before we make a purchase...
not buy and regret, then sell it at less than half price because the product has been discontinued in a very few years.

I got 1320 before GST from another shop. body only.
I am quite skeptical anyone will be willing to sell a used 40D significantly lower than this.

yes they do. price quoted includes payment by MC/visa

I did try.. and most don't believe the quotes I got just when this thread 1st started... :bsmilie:
and next they will go theirs is a better deal with all the "freebies" they thrown in, like extra batts...

some of the discontinued models are even priced more than a NIB 450... :bigeyes:
