I'll leave the recommendation to you guys (poison avsquare). he's ex 1DX user, now D800. maybe let him play with 6D. get him to change camp again. :bsmilie:

i know u guys can do it.

Haha bro, I got the D600 first, then there's a CS bro who got the D800E and wanted a swap with me with $1,000 top up, to me is, why not? :bsmilie:

Today, went to Event shoot (low light) condition.:)
Shoot together with 7D with 16-35 f2.8 II (+580EXII) and 6D 24-105 f4 IS, here are the suggestions.
6D is a winner. Super AF is working well in the low light area and faster than cross sensors form 7D.
But rest of the sensors are weak as compare to the cross sensors from 7D.
I believe 24-70 f4 IS will be a good combo .
Most of the shots are done with ISO12800, F4 is not an issue.
Lighter body is matching with IS lens.
Here is the pic with ISO12800.

Glad to hear that. Put on a 2.8 lens to enable high precision af points I think it will be even better.

Is it ctr of gravity balance on 16-35? I getting 6d+16-35 for overseas trip

okay, tried the 24-105 with 6D at home

tested focus on white tissue box on top of white tablecloth, very dim lighting that i can only make out its a tissue box is because its white and because im the one who placed it there

My verdict is:

Theres hunting if there is not enough contrast, i.e white box with faint wordings
However, once i tilt the box to show just a black letter, even with the extreme dim lighting, as long as theres a slight contrast, the focus caught on freaking fast and accurate

Coming from 550D, feels that even though 6D AF system looks simplistic and very much like the rebel/5d/5d2 system, the performance is another matter altogether, especially the center point, is no horse run!

16-35 is not a good option for FF in the event. 24-70 f2.8 will do much better for the other AF points.
Will do long explosure shot (with 16-35) for any light leaking during the weekend.;)

But I wonder how is the AF when in AI-Servo mode...

5D3 seems to hold details better.
imo, noise control is pretty much close.

6D is definitely better. About one stop. 6D ISO 25600 looks similar to 5D3 ISO 12800 which looks much worse than 6D ISO 12800.

This is according to Capture One. I am more interested in ACR results however. :D

if you look at the ISO 3200 and 6400 comparison, generally the 5DMK3 holds more contrast than the 6D, especially at the shadow area(top left edge of all the cards).

Simple case of edge sharpening... not even about fine details here (which are attributed to other sensor related stuff such as strength of AA filter). It's preliminary support after all.

edge sharpening? enlighten me please?

i am talking about the shadow area which was cast by the edge of the cards onto the background. :dunno:

and if you count the cards starting from the left, the 6th one(sorry i have colour deficiency, so i cannot identify the colour). look at the shadow cast on it, the 5DMK3's sample is darker than the 6D's.

6D + 35mm at F/16. A bit disappointed coz the landscape is not very sharp at F/16.
