WIth no PP at all seriously? Wow you hit the exposure spot on with each shot. And very sharp! Were you using the sigma or your 24105 L lens?

Thanks for the nice comments! For the Futsal shots, from 5pm to 7 pm using 24-105... using Tv around 1/320 seconds... after 7 pm using Sigma 50mm... The 24-105 can cotinuous AF sharply most of the times. The Canon USM is amazing! Sigma HSM requires some luck... ;)

The Star Search album are mostly using Sigma 50mm

I agree... the photos are very impressive especially considering the fact that there was no post processing. I've seen very few photo examples from users of the 60D, but those that I've seen have been very impressive!

I've heard good things about the Nikon D7000 too. It will be interesting to compare both side by side.

The D7000 is a great camera but if not wrong it will not be cheap. It has a slight advantage over 60D but have to pay a premium for that... Basically dual SD card slots, much more AF points but only a few are cross type, magnesium body for people who are obsess with heavier bodies or planning to go to war to take photos, faster FPS if I am not wrong and dunno what else... ;p

To be honest, I was quite determined to get 550D cause the specification of 60D isn't fantastic.. If it was priced as 50D initial price around SGD $1600-1700, I wouldn't even bother about it. But then, the price of 60D is SGD $1400-1440, which is about $300 more than 550D. For $300 more u got a semi pro body, swivel screen (which I find it very useful tonight... wahaha!), faster FPS, buffer speed, wireless flash, 9 cross type AF points and it seems to work much better with my Canon lenses. In short, I think the main advantage of 60D is the price. For those thinking of upgrading from entry level DSLR, 60D is a worthy upgrade... for semi-pro DSLR, may have to think twice as it is quite a parallel upgrade... :D

Well one of the things that will keep me in the Canon camp is my investment in lenses. Even if the IQ of the Nikon D7000 is slightly better, that would not be a reason for me to switch. In fact the way I look at it, because Nikon has slightly improved their IQ vs. Canon (maybe this time), the next iteration of the Canon xxD model will be that much better! It is just a matter of patience and waiting for the right opportunity. In the meantime, I've got a collection of fine Canon lenses that I continue to use from Canon model to Canon model. :)

Hehe... then without a doubt you should stick to Canon! Just curious... what camera body are ya using?

I am using a 7D and a 5D classic as a back up. I was intrigued by the 60D story at the beginning because of how poor it looked on paper (this was when they had just announced it). Then I was fascinated after launch. The swell of public opinion had changed so dramatically because of the impressive IQ of the 60D! I can't think of any camera that has had a story like this! :)

Hehe... I am one of them! Pretty disappointed when it looked on paper before it launch... Then when I know the price of the camera, I was like hmm.... looks attractive... Following that got users saying the AF is very accurate... I was like hmm... wooo.... Finally I go to the shop to hand held the camera... By then, my mind has already made up liao. :D

Love the last shot! good composition! I think it would be better if that blue little bulb there was cropped off though =)

Very impressive photos, postal! Great details at ISO 3200! Were these taken in Singapore? I've never seen the tigers before.

Yeah, hehe, I think the biggest mistake you made was going to the store and putting one in your hand! Thanks for the warning! I will be sure to resist doing that! ;)

Congratulations! :)

Thanks for your comments! The swivel screen helps... In the past have to either squat very low or take blind shots to achieve it. BTW, it is the standard chartered logo... upload le then I noticed it...

When I went to Vivo... I did this.... I tried 1000D, 550D, 60D, 7D, 5D II.... and after all the tries.... I concluded..... all are nice camera, and I cannot decide..... so I was not hooked by only 60D only.... :bsmilie::bsmilie::bsmilie:

Try out all the camera, and you will not be tempted by anyone of them.... :bsmilie::bsmilie:

Wahaha! I never had a chance to touch a 7D as it is always the most popular camera at Vivo... maybe after hand helding a 7D I may have second opinion... wahaha!

I see... I went on a weekday, and lesser crowds... and I was there waiting.... after the previous guy finished trying, I would POUNCE and HOG the camera... one by one, I tested.... try out the GPMG, the Pistol, the Rifle.... and handled all.... and I was hooked to 60D, 7D and 5D II.... maybe when 5DIII with 7D AF, Gridline, 100% VF.... it would have been more poison for me... but for now, 7D poison and as strong as 60D's poison... so it is pretty poisonous for me.... :bsmilie:so both the poison neutralized each other.. so I am safe... for now... :bsmilie:

I think u should buy both then the poison is totally neutralized... wahaha! ;p

For me the AK 47 (Canon 60D) is good enough for me... the GPMG (Canon 7D) is overkill... haha! Anyway, I don't really shoot sports unless it is company event... But of course if my company sponsor a GPMG to me... I will never reject... wahaha!

Can anyone tell me if it is a smart moce to upgrade my 50D to 60D because I want a all in one video and Camera. Is the Video recording facilities anywhere glose to a canon Legria HD video camera.

I am really looking for a light Video camera. Can I use my 50D tamaro lens on the 60D?

Is there anytime limit for its video recoding facilities? like 4mins or 10mins etc?

Thanks

I think it depends on your video requirement... if u are using the video mode for a short period of time, then a PnS or a DSLR is a good option. FYI quoted from the instruction manual, if the file size of the video reach 4 gb, it will stop immediately. So for full HD would be about 12 minutes... and yes u can used the tamron lens ( I assume u spelt wrongly...) on the 60D.

For me, I would choose to get a PnS for video instead. A DSLR is designed such that it is most efficient when using phase detection to AF. The contrast AF for all DSLR is amazingly slow so u will have problem focusing if u are using large aperature. For PnS... as it has a very small sensor, everything seems sharp on video... and of course lighter and easier to use. Just my 2 cents... :-D

Hehe... I was looking for instruction on how to prolong the LCD illumination on the LCD panel... love the orange light. Wahaha! Anyone has any idea cause I cannot find it in the manual...
