Why are you bothered by it?
i am not bothered by it... in fact i'm glad the D7000 came...

Why are you bothered by it?
Why are you so sure? It looks good on paper yes, but the price is also higher than the 60D. Its just that nikon chose to bridge the gap from their d90(4.5 (d90) to 6(d7000) to 8(d300s)) to the d300/d300s. On the other hand, the canon already has a camera equivalent to the d7000, which is the 50D, shooting at 6.3FPS.
Other than a 100% live view and a dual SD card slots, which are basically cosmetic differences to me at least, they are about the same specs wise. Any higher than 50D would be the 7D already.
If the implemented the 60D with 100% VF and dual SD card slots, 6.x FPS and whatnot, the 50D will be crushed entirely. And there will be a hell lot of overlap in specs, which is honestly, a bad idea.
I doubt you guys know what is cross type and non cross type b4 the launch of mark iv, whr the manufacturer make the big hoohah, to tell the world that their focusing system has the most number cross type sensor (is it really better? check yourself online, i do not want to comment on the performance). Before this, does it stop everyone from taking good photos?
Cross type doesn't make the line type focusing sensor useless. It works! no matter whr it is located, and shooting still object, it's more than enough.
More is defitenitely a bonus! useful or not it's up to individual. To me, it's good to have, eventhough 90% of the time, center point is sufficient, but it is there when i need it 10% of the time.
went to try out the new 60D today.. no offense but the overall feel of the camera to me is.. :thumbsd:
the camera feels like a toy cam and the shutter sound made it worst.
and just to add on, the whole camera is like plastic. the LCD dont seem sturdy too. :kok:went to try out the new 60D today.. no offense but the overall feel of the camera to me is.. :thumbsd:

i actually went to the shop to try hehe so IQ cant comment much.Did you get a chance to take any photos with it? If so, what did you think of the IQ?
60D is a disappointment as compared to previous XXD models. Save the money and go for 550D better.....![]()
I was looking through Nikon forum and the price of D7000 body could be around $1700... about $300 plus more than Canon 60D... If that is the case then D7000 doesn't sounds like a good deal after all... $300 more for dual slots, slightly more fps, mag body, more AF points... and erm... dunno what else...
Yup the 60D is already out and its sits nicely and brand new at the canon vivo city show room. honestly the 60D grip is so much better than my old 50D!and the LCD screen is really sharp plus the ability to shot in different aspect ratio is a bonus (1:1, 4:3, 16:9) its fantastic.

Hey, i'm a 500D user thinking of upgrading to 60D, so played with the vivo set
How could they put 60D display set same row as 7D and 5d?..after playing with the 2 big guns, the 60D felt so "ordinary"...in terms of the grip feel and shutter sound and the machine gun ability...sorry, first time "molesting" 7D and 5d....
anyway the on/off button felt not refined and not so effortlessly turned, same for the mode dial, the adjustment wheel for iso etc felt worse than my 500D, like it's loose??maybe due to abuse..and adjustments on the directional scroll wheel didn't feel so precise as dedicated directional buttons...just my feel of it...make me less gian now....maybe wait some more for price drop....to $1300?? in 3mths?hahaha
