Canon 5D mk3 in Spring

Heh, no worries. But I read another CSer's comment that a brand new grey set is going for around $2600. Dunno if this is true though.

Auto ISO Improvements

The 5D Mark III's Auto ISO mode now offers additional customization options. You can now set a minimum ISO as well as a maximum, and define a specific minimum shutter speed too. It's not quite the same flexibility as offered by the Nikon D800 with its multiple progam lines, but it's a big improvement over previous Canon implementations. And, unlike the 5D II, can be used in Manual shooting mode, allowing you to specify the shutter speed and aperture you want, and leaving the camera to worry about ISO. You can apply AE lock when working with Auto ISO in Manual mode and the viewfinder will show you the difference between the locked value and the current metered value. It's not currently clear whether there's any way of setting exposure compensation.

At 3.5k USD...reach singapore shop probably close to 5k sgd liao, considering that we still need gst...

At that price, I am seriously considering about jumping to d800, since I haven't got much lenses. Plus nikon still has a decent 50/1.4 and 85/1.4...although I could never quite understand the nikon user interface.:dunno:

well, that's how it works for certain gears.

50L is another one. The price difference between a 2nd hand at BnS is about 100 difference from a brand new grey set.

Really no point. I bought a grey 50L brand new with 1 year shop warranty. :bsmilie:

Hmm, looks like IF I buy the 5Dm3, I will have to either keep my 5Dm2 or replace that with a Classic just for my manual lenses. Headache...

This was my concern when I read that it's a 7D design. Very sad day for alternative lens users, especially those who love legacy lenses, like myself. Hope NEX 9 will be FF.

I usually don't mix my AF and MF lenses. I tend to bring only my manual prime lenses when I travel (without my kids). So just one body at a time will do! :bsmilie: Anyway the 5Dm3 is so ex, dun think I want to bring it for traveling.
