Ya somehow it seems so empty tonight... No more bedtime CR stories and 5DX/III lullabies lol.

We got what we asked for and more!

Hi guys, new video from Digitalrev about the 5D Mark III, fresh from the oven!
High ISO performance is real good!
Great video! I couldn't tell for sure but it looked like Kai was testing the 5D MkIII with the new 24-70 lens (MkII). This camera is truly developing an early reputation as a low light - low noise performer! I am looking forward to seeing more on this.
the 61 focus pt from the video seems pretty impressive too
You can't translate that to their full-frame sensors.Yes the 51,000 ISO and even the 102,000 ISO samples are impressive. The fact that DPReview created a special news bulletin on these samples is a testament in Canon's favour.
I think that Canon has been working on its low light and less noise improvement for quite a while. You can see the evidence of that in the photo below comparing the G12 ISO 3200 sample vs. the Nikon P7000.
There are claims that the 5D3 is TWO stops better than the 5D2. It will interesting to see a head to head comparison of the 5D3 and D800, but based on the D800 samples posted in this thread a few hundred posts ago, I would put my money on Canon.

The comparison of these two cameras is a purely academic exercise for me. In any case I believe both cameras are so good it doesn't really matter in practical terms any more.
