You should have sold the 1D3 and pool your funds for a 1DX :p

Ps: how is the AF on 5D3 compared to 1D3?

The AF lock on for 5D3 is way way faster than the 1D3. This is one of the feature that got to get the 5D3

Must... not...

I itch hand touch liao, how?

AF lock on even faster and you can slap 2X TC on f4 lense. But you can buy 3 5D3 for the price of 1.. For now I just pretend that the other day I was only dreaming that I touch the 1Dx.. hahaha

I thought can only buy 2 5D3 for the price of 1? 1DX RRP is $9299 leh...

Using 5DMKIII for a month already and my god it's good.

I upgraded from a 5DMk2 and 600D.

How different is the 5D Mk III from the 5D Mk II? Is it a drastic improvement?

The reason I'm asking is...

I currently have the 5D Classic. I am about a week or two away from upgrading. I can afford to get the Canon 5D MK II now and in fact I almost bought one yesterday. But what I really want in my heart of hearts is the Canon 5D Mark III. However the Mark 3 is dramatically more expensive than the Mk 2. If I bought the Mk 2 I would have a lot of cash left over to do something else with. If I bought the Mk 3, I wouldn't have much cash left at all.

To complicate things even further... yesterday I stopped myself from buying a mint 5D Mark 2 with only 1,040 actuation's! I figured that if I bought the Mk 2 I would always be thinking that I could have bought the Mk 3 and I would have been that much more satisfied.

The possibility of a new entry level 5D just a couple of months away which beats the specs of the 5D Mark II, complicates things even further!

I am pretty well decided on the 5D Mk III. But is it worth the extra $2000?

IIRC, don't you already have a 7D? I feel that the 5D Mk 2 complements the 7D very well. If you want to get the 5D Mk III, then why not sell both your 5DC and the 7D?
Btw, are you planning to buy it in Canada or Singapore?

DigitalCamera: Man!... you've got a good memory!

I've already sold my 7D and 3 EF-S lenses from two weeks ago. I will be in Singapore by the end of the week. The 5D3 is too expensive in Canada. I will be bringing my 5DC and try my luck with B&S. I will also be bringing a couple of other unsold EF-S lenses that I no longer need due to the sale of the crop 7D.

I have pretty much made up my mind on the 5D3 although the 5D2 will save me a little less than $2K and provide pretty much the same IQ as the 5D3. The substantial savings opens up the opportunity to buy glass. But really the only additional piece of glass that I want is the Sigma 12-24 which I can still buy with the 5D3. I have all other focal ranges covered with "L" lenses. My next step is to begin working on primes (future project).

So there you have it. I guess I'm pretty much set with my decision. Now I just have to execute it.

What more can I say?

CONGRATULATIONS ON GETTING YOUR 5D MARK III (SOON)!

Go with the 5D3, you won't regret it.

The only thing it lacks is speed for sports, action and wildlife, which only the 1D series will satisfy.

How much you selling the 5DC?

How much you selling the 5DC?

Gosh I dunno. I haven't even stepped on Singaporean soil yet and therefore haven't posted it in B&S. Ummm... I guess S$1,000 is about the going rate?

Sorry for the late reply. Well, I remember you mentioning quite a few times you have a 5DC and a 7D in the past :) But I thought camera prices are generally cheaper in the US and Canada?
Anyway, congratulations on your soon to be purchase!
