Alright. The challenge that I am organizing is confirmed.

Thanks. :)

sorry bro , i dont really get what you mean :x

but i just need a flash to take some night portraits ~
so is nissin good ? :D ~

For no-frills flash photography, I would really recommend sticking to Canon flashes.

It's compatible with E-TTL and E-TTL II.

I'm no expert but I'm guessing 3rd party can never be 100% compatible.

Hi Guys
can someone tell me that how useful is the battery grip in your shooting...mahathir and few of us have one...how important it is to get one.

I have to get a BG cos 1000D is too small for my hands. It was alright at first, eventually it felt weird to hold such a small camera.

+1. Certainly there's no 100% but for those who's budget a little tight could just make do with 3rd party. Initially I wanted to get 3rd party but looking at the nature of my assignments, I cannot afford to lose any compatibility issues therefore I got a Canon strobes instead.

Yeah. Currently saving up for a 2nd flash+wireless triggers+couple of lightstands+umbrellas/reflectors. Can do strobing then.

Not necessary, but good to know in case you come across a situation where you might have to flash your subject.

IMO, you need to understand the basics operations of a flash gun.

How much power to emit? Where you want to position your flash? Do you want to direct on flash or bounce at an angle or use a diffuser to soften the shadow?

After all these, you need to take into consideration of the surrounding. No ceiling/ High ceiling = no bounce. Other than your flash gun any other natural lighting that will affect your photos etc.

Strobing is more than just buying a flash and start firing away. And to go into strobing, do save up because the equipment will cost you a lot.

Not necessary. My setup: 580EXII with ebay trigger & tripod as lightstand, not that costly. One could always settle for a third party flashlight.
