Agree. So means those in Australia paid a slight premium to enjoy the product first. We, on the other hand, have to wait a few days, a week, 2 weeks, nobody knows. Hopefully, tomorrow with the start of the IT Show 2006, there'll be some light at the end of the tunnel. ;)

If $2.3k for 30D new is true, then a used 20D is probably only 1.5k worth ($500 for new technology and $300 for depreciation). wow that's unbelieveable. Imaging I got my D60 new for 3.8k in April 2002...

Your Canon 1D was $9999 back in 2002 PC show...that was street price cos i remember seeing a big poster with the price $9999 at Canon booth

New 20D now $2K.

I think marketing/Sales managers/directors in Singapore think that Singaporeans are suckers - earn lots of money no where to spend, so just charge them high high----

until they realized that consumers simply just take the risk and buy it from some other countries, eg Japan where consumers will tend to believe/think that those are definitely made in Japan => more reliable so why need warranty......Canon QC can't be so bad especially if "made in Japan" and sold in Japan........so the marketing/sales managers/directors becomes sucker themselve when they can't exceed targets.

Nowadays it's difficult to find electronics that's 100% made in Japan. I wouldn't be surprise if it is made elsewhere.

Most importantly is that they control their QC well.:)

Agreed... If the final QC if good, I don't really care where is it made since Canon service makes up for it. :)

looks good! haha.. 9K+ HKD... cheaper than i expected! time to head down to wing shing this weekend!
