sounds like Canon is pricing the 30D aggressively... just like they did with their 10D.... which led to a tumble of prices for other prosumer DSLRs.

Well... like I say, exciting times ahead for the DG world. ;)

So cheap? I think it will be official launch tomorrow at IT show.

Dealer say distribution delay by 2 days...sorry about the hoo haa...but I think the IT show have something to do with this delay....

just read the IT section in the papers today, 30D going for $2499 but from 10 Mar at the IT fair.

And $2699 with kit lens but should be able to get cheaper outside ;)

Kindly share where when you find one... okay.

On my god, the new price of 30D is so much cheaper than the launched of 20D 1.8 years old.

The price of 30D is cheaper than its rival Nikon D200. The price war has just begun.

Those who wanted to or tempted to switch to other brands will now think twice.

I wonder how much market share can this new baby capture against all its rivals.

Woohoo.....

30D for RRP $2499 (body) and RRP $2699 (Kit)...

I think the kit comes with EF-S 18-55mm lens. Can anyone confirm?

If only they bundle with a much better lens...

Are the freebies worth $200, because that's the mark-up from the RRP. This IT show prices seem to be anti-consumer.

Aiyah...

Since when anybody quote current actual selling price of the freebies?? They always quote RRP or last year's price so that consumers, like us, will get sucker-ed into buying the product thinking that they are getting good value from the freebies thrown in for free. Only those who are unfamiliar with the current outside selling price of those freebies will believe the advertised value of the freebies...;p

I got to agree with you. Nikon D200 RRP is $3288 body only, a thousand dollars more expensive.

I think either Nikon to drop the D200 RRP soon or going to lose out major market share from new DSLR users (exisitng Nikon users are more difficult to convert due to existing Nikon equipments that they own...)

30D is on sale at the IT fair.

Believe it or not... from DPNET
http://forum.dpnet.com.cn/newbbs/dispbbs.asp?f_type=1&id=72880

So the kit will be with 17-85IS.

As mentioned in another thread, I read that Canon AU is selling 3 packages... body only, body with 18-55 kit and body with 17-85 IS <- Around AU$3300?

Up to now still no new of the launch. It have to be together with the IT show then...who got tomorrow's paper?
