Can I DIY Rabbit Cage (two storey) using PVC pipe materials is it possible?

Wow brilliant idea !! Need to have power tools to make those nice cuts. Can buy those grills from 100 yen shop, use for placing fried items on top to drain off the oil.

Rabbits are not small and can grow rather large. Having long tunnel might not be good as it may get stuck. rabbits has no claw to pull itself thru tight spaces it needs room to move forward by a light hop action that is hardly lifting off the ground as it push up and up and forward.

If the rabbits are toilet train and are allowed about the home, the cage should be seen as something for it to sleep or short term habitat.

thanks all for your input.

sammy888, you are absolutely right!
Main reason to upgrage to bigger cage is planning to house two rabbits . Most likely is for secure the rabbits in cage when I am out to work.

I dont have equipments and skills to perform cutting, drilling..welding..so too complicated DIY cant handle..
I went to few hardware shops this afternoon not finding of what I can use. All are so heavy duty usage :P

Sleep first...so late now..later continue thinking.

Don't diy as you not sure whether works or not. It's not easy unless you already draw out the cage design and got a workshop to make it. Best you look for some shop which can diy for you with the drawing you provided. Maybe they will gives you some of their view and ended up a better cage.

Hi BBTM,
I have thought of that too and that will be my last optional to find someone DIY the cage for me base on my drawing. But need to consider the price quote.

Hi catchlights,
I did consider the playpen idea too.
The playpen I saw from one of the dealer come with two size.

Small 90cm x 70cm /pc, risk to take this small size because my rabbit is a very good jumper. She jumped over before a 60cm height...and the width 90cm is too big my available space is only 60cm.

I will try think of a simple type plan first.

Searching Taobao :) I think I saw a dog cage (playpen type) have the width that I looking at.

thanks kandinsky for this amazing DIY work for housing hamster !!

I got to let my friend see it and hope she can create a nice home for her hamster !
