any third party grip for this baby available?

Yesterday tried using a colleague's EPL5 for the first time. Looks pretty but bit confused by the buttons layout. And struggled with WB the whole night in a restaurant. Appeared so red using AWB. Tried choosing other WB settings but none look ok. Any tips for WB setting in a well-lit restaurant?

You sure it's the AWB and not the picture mode? I shoot in natural mode and awb and don't have the problems you describe. There is another possibility. By some strange reason oly by default left one of the settings "keep warm color" on, turn this off!! Otherwise the photos look too orange. I believe this is under the G menu

Keep warm colour is not necessarily bad. I sometimes keep it on to get some warmth.

Ok tks shall ask her to check out. Hope she can navigate her way thru the menu.

Oly5050: it's not normal warmth. It's beta-carotene red! Real horrible when everyone in it looks like a martian haha

I find that with this turned on its too "warm" for my liking : )

Like i said, i sometimes use it depending on wat i want. Its obviously subjective and personal preference comes to play. But at least it is there to toggle. I appreciate it bec i find that some cameras are too cold for my liking and i wished they had an option to warm it up.

personally i also prefer to set "keep warm" off... in fact i dunno why i find that nowadays even with "keep warm" off... sometimes depends on the lighting conditions it's still too warm and i had to resort to manual... dunno why initially i find that the auto WB with "keep warm" off almost always able to achieve nicely balanced WB... but only past 1-2mths did i noticed a few times the auto WB is still too warm at times... i dunno are there some other settings i meddled with caused that... :/

personally to me... it depends on the subject i want to take also... most of the time my camera is used to take food photos... so always for food photos i don't want it to be too warm nor too cold... i want the WB to be just right... but if i am taking photos of friends in restaurant... i'd like it to be slightly warm as it'll look nicer...

E-PL6 should have hit the stores, so woulld think it's hard to find it even. Else, is best to give the regular stores (TK foto, MSColor, SLR Revo, CP, AP etc) a call to check on it before making a trip. Else, qoo10/ebay/amazon etc are your next best bet.

Courts ad today looks like an E-pl5 for $388 !

where did you see that ad? I saw that ad on ST. It states it's a 12.3MP camera which means it's prob a E-PL3.. although the picture used seems like a E-PL5 that's merely for "illustrative purposes" as written..

Waiting for olympus to lelong their epl5 in the coming it show.
