Shipping? Not sure also, think just USPS back or find the cheapest with padded envelope. Think around US$30+. Another way is to just take out the card, wrap it in bubblewrap and mail in normal envelope. That way like US$10 only. :D Then split accordingly lor.

Or if he happens to come back soon after getting the cards, I can collect from him when he's in SG.

The mail rebate thing might take up to 10weeks to reach him as stated in the form. So I'll just send the forms directly to Olympus US with the necessary documents and wait for it to reach my friend. Then decide how to ship back. The whole process will take some time, so if anyone wants to 'tong pang' cannot be those kiasu type and keep questioning and asking me when will reach :D I will update when I have news. Also might be a chance it might be rejected for whatever reason, package might be lost or card reach here, cannot use etc etc... these are the risks involved.

PM me if you're ok with the wait and risks involved, then we can go thru the logistics. :D

wait... on the other hand... looking at the form... might be a bit hard... it says:
1. Print this claim form.
2. Fill out all the claim information on the form.
3. Attach the following:
• Copy of dated sales receipt showing purchase of qualifying products.
• Original UPC codes cut from EACH product package
(if claiming more than 1 free card, please include the UPCs from each product package).

4. MAIL all items to:

Promotion #44286
FlashAirTM Memory Card Giveaway
PO Box 22092
Tempe, AZ 85285-2092

problem is the part bolded out... meaning need the sticker physically... send to ur fren... den can attempt to redeem the thing.... hence the postage needs to be done both ways... >__<

oh.. then you cut and send to me 1st lor with the other documents. i consolidate and send straight to olympus us mah. no need to go thru my fren for this. Just need to share the postage from me to oly us also but if small amount, I don't mind footing it :D

Anyone wishes to let go of their MZ 40-150 R in brand new condition from the TLK? Let me know.

mine is a tamron DSLR bag... AP gave me as free gift when i bought my E-PL2... although the bag is too big for E-PL2... to me it's just nice...! cos i use the bag for my other barang barang like umbrella... mp3 player... nexus 7... mobile charger etc... the E-PL2 only takes up less than 1/3 space... i still got room to carry my other 2 lens w/o bringing extra bag... so i'm very happy with the bag... :D

and oh... i just received my camera at my US address address....! zzz the volumetric weight is a freaking 4.5kg... luckily hopshopgo/cgw got option to repack... repacking costs USD7.... but after repacking the volumetric weight is down to 2kg... and after 1st kg off (promo code: PPLNOV10) and 10% paypal discount for 1st time user... shipping (including fuel surcharge, insurance and repacking) is USD17.08.... plus GST of USD41.82... total convert to SGD is about $74.... plus the camera total cost is about SGD761 (body only).... still very good deal...! :D

Olympus EPL5 - The last camera for 90% of us

Hi,

I'm a semi-newbie photographer who just picked up a brand-new EPL5 Twin-Lens kit just yesterday and went tooling around with it at Gardens Bay East and my home and garden just today, y'know just to test how well it did with absolutely no training or reading the manuals.

I'm not new to cameras, having had a first-generation Canon 300D then had a Ricoh GX200 then a short but ultimately disappointing spell with the Ricoh GXR. But I am about the same as the 90% of people you see walking around with a DSLR slung round their necks - an "Auto-mode-shooter". No skills, just dumb shooting.

Well to anyone who is thinking of upgrading from a point-and-shoot and has about a thousand bucks to spend - my advice is run, don't walk, to the Olympus camera place and get yourself one of these. The EPL5 is so ridiculously competent it is like night and day. It made my older shots taken with the older cameras look like cave paintings held against a Van Gogh. And this is with kit lens. The touch-and-shoot function makes a mockery of the old saying "it's not the equipment, it's the person". Well, look at my shots below - shaky-handed-hand-held, tap-n-shoot in typically overcast light with the 40-150 kit lens. The bittern shot is the best nature shot I've taken by far, and I've had the Sigma Bigma on my 300D.

I'm sure a whole lot of the experts will come and have a critique of the shots, but for the 90% of us right here right now - I mean, look at these pics! All of these are just cropped with GIMP and all of them are about 25% of their full size! This is the magic grail - a camera that makes me want to take more photos over and over.

Edit - sorry somehow the pics don't show. But hope the links do.

Great!! Glad that you feel the passion to shoot more. Honestly the gear is only one part. The key is the person behind the camera. :). But glad the E-Pl5 makes it easier for you to take better shots.

I know what you mean. I just got a e-pl5 last month and today I was using it as my second cam. The metering was absolutely spot on. Great cam!!

US prices are back to US$599 for the SLK again. :D

i saw that too... but that's only with mail-in rebate and qualified only for US.... some more the rebate is in the form of pre-paid VISA gift card... so i rather prefer the USD99 deal... :)

I have a digi cabi 36l one. but my e-pl5 is always on my table, only put my lens in it.

For those who missed the last Oly US promo and would like to get it again, it's back. amazon, adorama, bnh should match these offers as well.

Olympus

Hi,

I'm interested in getting the Olympus OM-D body only from Adorama or BNH. This is my first time purchasing from either of the websites, hence may I know does the total cost include shipping only, or are there other costs which will be included, such as tax? Sorry for asking such questions as it is my first time purchasing camera stuffs from online websites.

Shipping #1 - Retailer (amazon/B&H/adorama) to concierge service (hopshopgo, comgateway, vpost) is sometimes free to maybe about $10 depending how fast you want to sent. There's no tax if you sent to concierge services.
Shipping #2 - Concierge service back to Singapore. This weblink is useful. You can select Singapore, will calculate 7% gst for you so you will pay this upfront as well. But not include insurance (0.65% of declared value+shipping), fuel surcharge (about 15% shipping cost)...You can certainly use others as well.
