Hi Dogcom,

Thank you for posting the picture of our gethering last night. It is my pleasure to have a chance to meet you all and hope to meet again, may be for an photographic outing.

Nice meeting you guys. Hope to meet soon for an outing.
Richard

I am posting two images for sharing and comments.

The Butterfly:
FInd the wing tips a little soft, background blur very nice.. and frame well filled

The Girls:
I like the skin tones, nice tight frame, very natural and un-posed...I like the hands...

Nice works Koh. It set me wondering whether the girls took a photo of us that started them lol...;)

CPK, the butterfly is a Peacock Pansy, quite common in the grassland area. Might be better to allow a bit more space left and right of this butterfly. Colorwise, it is accurate and regarding the blurring of the wing tips, this could be due to motion blur especially when flash is fired it tend to close its wings or when it is disturbed when sunning.
Richard

Looking at the picture, thanks to dogcom, i can really fit into the group. By alas, i can't meet you guys if the meeting is at clementi. Looking at the pic, most of you drinking kopi o and that is my favourite drink next to beer. However, i will log on to this page to check when will be the opportunity to meet you all. Btw cpkoh you captured two good pics

Did you crop the photo or capture as it. I personally prefer to leave more space on top and both sides of the boat.

Hi Richard,

Thank you for your comments. The cause is shallow depth of field and no flash firing, as the pic was taken at f/4 which is my favourite aperture when I use my 70-200 VR for candid shot.

DinoT, I agree with CPK regarding the cropping. More breathing space should be allowed at least at the top and you can do this by framing in less at the bottom. In the case of shooting things on water especially on a bright day, a polarizer will definitely improve the shot as this will reduce the glare reflected by the water.

Thanks Richard, good tips. The shot was taken "as is", no cropping. :)

To all the seniors here, there is a planned outing by the Butterfly people at Alexandra Hospital Butterfly Terrace on 2 June. Those interested please check out the Macro section under the topic Sharing a Few Butterflies.
Richard

It seem you guys are staying near to Clementi area and I am staying at Hougang. I don't think I will make it to 325 to-night esp during weekday. Oh well let wait for another time. Hopefully somewhere in between clementi and hougang hahaha. cpkoh count me in if you arrange some outing in one of the weekends.

Ok let me try to get senior citizen clubsnap members from hougang area to meet like the old folks in clementi did. Hougang old folks can we do that. It kind of East meet West. :bsmilie:

To keep this thread going and also to explain why I miss the last meeting and also to pass an important finding to my senior citizen colleagues, I write this.

My hip was killing me and I had to miss that meet as I couldn't even sit down and the pain was excruciating! I have been to 4 doctors and this is the result:

1) GP told me that its pinch nerves and gives me pain killer
Result: Not much help, pain still there

2) Sin Seh is sure it is slip disc and did stretch and acupuncture
Result: Pain went away for 3 days and then came back again
Went the second time and no improvement at all
3) Went to clinic, doctor assure me its athritis and not curable
Result: gives pain killers - no help
4) Hospital doctor: Hip bone worn
Result: Nothing was done as I do not believe
X-Ray of hip showed slight degeneration due to old age
Heard about a bone setter and visited him, he reset the bones on my right leg and:
Result: Miracle! It is cured - no more pain.
Cause of problem: Mislocation of bones from the feet to the hip and posture when sitting, walking and lying down.

So, if you have any kind of joint or muscle or nerve pain, check with a bone setter "tway nah" first to make sure that your body (bones) is set correctly first before anythin else.
Of course if you truly have athritis or slip disc or severe worn joints, it will not help but
I believe most of the time it is just your bones not set properly though years of misuse and just resettin the bones can solve the problem.

Hope this helps fellow members.

Hi Cecil,

I am glad your search for a cure have a happy ending. I think this kind of sharing can be helpful for people whose 'warranty" have ran out when you reach a certain age ..haha.

My wife suffers from knee pain as well for a number of years and have seek treatment from both eastern and western (GP and SPecialist) practitioners but the pain never go away. Please PM me the contact of the Bone Setter. Thank you.
