Buddy System in CS

May I suggest something? Since Zaren is our leader of the pack, can Zaren do the assigning instead? This is because we don't want to end up one old bird mentoring all the newbies and the rest cannot really do much. Also to avoid the "I don't like him so I don't want him to be my mentor", etc...

Also, for me, I don't know who I should PM because I am pretty sure the old birds are all equally good. Choosing one is such a tough job...

If Zaren is to assign, being the leader, his decision is final. Nothing much can be said about it. Mentors and understudies assigned are pretty much in control and even. What do you guys think?

hi zeckson... you're not really strictly a "newbie" by darren's definition... the buddy system is first and foremost to help newbies enjoy their stay in CS becos he/she doesn't know anyone. of course it can also be used to foster friendships among oldies and to share photography knowledge. for the "oldies" out there (you know who you are!), pls feel free to buddy up with anyone you like. just be on standby to buddy newbies when they come along!
this should be a win-win situation for all...i don't think i should be in a position to make "final" decisions. as for me, i am not really into fashion/portraiture photography so I won't be able to provide much help there. however, i can share some of my experience in street shooting if you like.

i think your english is fine actually.
you can help by helping newbies find their feet in CS, and to share some of your knowledge/experience in photography.

a newbie should never be too shy to ask "simple" or "stupid" questions of his/her CS buddy.

haha....that's a good idea. oldie volunteer buddies can give more info what system they r using/ what genre of photography they are into etc... for the time being i'm relying on the CS profiles to find a fit for the buddies.
