Like what alot of ppl have already said, your breathing is impt. Unless u are going for a rebreather, your choice of a regular reg is not really going to help much in this aspect. I feel your choice of BC will matter more especially if you are taking macro. U will probably want to take on more weights than necessary (i normally use only 1-2 pieces but will take up to 6) to:-
1) go down fast to beat the crowd and 2) to be stable when taking your pic.,
and so you need a hardy BC to tahan all the additional weights. Your BC will also need sufficient 'lift' to bring you up easily when you are done. U might also want to consider a back-flotation BC where the open front will enable you to minimise the space between your subject matter and your lens. On the overweighing, pls try it gradually and only when you are comfortable with your buoyancy. Negative fins help too. If it's any help to you, I am also a devout Scubapro fan :bsmilie:
