K mount? Flange distance of K-mount is 45.46mm! If the rumors are correct, then the Pentax will be the biggest MILC ever made!

It would also limit the usefulness for older MF lenses...

LoL... Does it matter? Pentax is just known to be a superb value for money product when compared with the "others" without compromising quality..

Priced lesser for less nonsense useless features. I'd rather have that than them being like the "rest" and when price goes up, we're screwed...

guess pentax is designing new lenses which can squeeze in inside the mirrorbox. there will be no restriction on rear element to sensor distance if there is no mirror that will hit the lens.

Sony NEX body is small, but w/ its kit lens on, it's not much smaller than our Pentax Ds with a 18-55 kit lens.

If a company only thinks of survival, chances are that it will be easier to go under water. So, my hope is that Pentax comes out with the right product to satisfy the greater part of the market. Come on Anthony, you think it's better that Pentax just sit there and die? I know you had pretty bad experience w/ Pentax, but no point always come back w/ some negative comment like this. Most Pentax users here are very excitied about the rumored K-01 camera, it's always good to see something new announced/released. As a small player, Pentax has to be innovative and keep coming out with some unique products so they can still keep some niche market. They never want or are able to gain big market shares like those big players anyway.

Let's stop this kind of discussion, especially it's just a rumored product. We are all here just to have some fun, aren't we?

If it does come out with a mirrorless system that take K mount lenses with competitive pricing and performance, I will save up and buy it.... can share lens with DSLR and mirrorless cam.... best of both world..... buy 1 len can share, buy anythign also can share... touch wood spoil also need to go one SC only.... :sticktong

Was actually eyeing Nex system also... but looking at the "potential" pricing of the NEX7 and the way they tickle your balls and make you wait and wait.... good lar, make the decision even easier.... :lovegrin:

see the spec not so upgrade from KR, rather prefer a new image processor and maybe 20megapix then count as upgrade. Rumored specs more like becoming TUA PAO every year come out with minor adjustments of 500D 550D 600D and what more this year,650D?
