did u crop the plates away or something...?? or u increased the exposure too much...? especially for the chicken linguine... it looks like the food is sitting in limbo or floating in midair or something....

Imperial Treasure La Mian

This restaurant is famous for it's xiao long bao (basket steam bun) and la mian (pulled noodle) which we really enjoyed. Some of the side dishes are good, some not so. Overall, it's worth trying.

Uncle's Kitchen

These few were taken in an eatery in Bugis Junction called Uncle's Kitchen. They serve mostly local (ala food-court style) food, the quality is ok (average, nothing to shout about) but the service and price is great

Yup, both cropped and a tad over-exposed (to isolate the subject). In limbo/floating? That bad aye ;p Will take note of that, thanks wacky :)

lol not that bad lah... maybe just that your style different from mine.... i like to go for more natural looking... so usually i prefer to show case the food with some background as a contrast... unless the background is too distracting on uninteresting... :)

True... Personally, I prefer to isolate and bring attention to the subject and include the background or surrounding only if they add value to the pic as a whole, complementing (and not competing with) the subject. In the pasta series, 2 were shot across the table (my boys refused to let me shoot as they were too hungry ;p) and the table was kinda messy so.... Nevertheless, I really appreciate your feedback and please keep them coming ;)

I saw the curry, they have the daily special or something. Will give it a try :) Yup, agree on the price, very competitive....

Thanks bro, glad you like them... :)

Sushi is without doubt the most popular Japanese food and is now available in almost every part of the world. It started out as a fast food in Japan because of its quick popularity and easiness to make. A simple round sandwich of sorts, made with vinegared rice, circled with nori (seaweed) and topped with other ingredients including fish (cooked or uncooked), prawn, scallops and other seafoods, eggs and vegetables. It is usually served cool with soy sauce/shoyu and wasabi.

There are many variety of sushi ~ the most popular ones are makizushi or maki (rolled sushi), nigirizushi (hand formed sushi), oshizushi (pressed sushi), inarizushi (stuffed sushi) and sashimi (basically sliced raw seafood, mostly fish without any rice). Sushi was first mentioned in the west and appeared in Oxford English Dictionary in the late 19th century.

The following series are taken from Sakae Sushi. The food is ok for a quick fix but if you want to enjoy quality sushi, personally I feel this joint is definitely not up to par.

I didn't say it was bad, just not good enough. Well, it's value for money but there are many better options out there :)
Chicken karaage is a good choice, my boy loves it too... I find the quality of the food differs from outlet to outlet, we had it in Bugis Jt which ws pretty ok.

I prefer Sushi Tei :bsmilie:
I don't mind sushi for supper but where to find 1 at this hour??? Lol

I like Sushi Tei too.. they just almost always deliver and are consistent... the dishes also have a certain level of finesse, as compared to Sakae, which I used to like
