Bon Appétit

I like Sushi Tei too.. they just almost always deliver and are consistent... the dishes also have a certain level of finesse, as compared to Sakae, which I used to like

I prefer Sushi Tei :bsmilie:
I don't mind sushi for supper but where to find 1 at this hour??? Lol

Agree, Sushi Tei is my choice too. I had their CNY mixed fish yusheng this year and it was really good.

Bro Anthony, try En Japanese Dining Bar in UE Square. This is one my family regular hunt for sushi & sashimi, they open till 3am on weekends and 12am on weekdays. Have not been there for quite a while, they used to have early bird discount of 50% (6pm-8pm), not sure whether they still do. The sashimi is  but be prepared for their super-slow service ;p

Hainanese Chicken Rice (海南鸡饭)

Chicken rice is probably the most popular and common dish in Singapore and often considered as (one of) the national dish. It is often represented and served as Singapore signature dish in global events overseas and is one of the few local dishes served in SIA. Its origin as the name suggested is most commonly associated with wenchang chicken (文昌雞) of Hainan Island, China. The local version, however, has been much improvised over the years and share little resemblance to the original.

Chicken rice can be found in almost every food-courts and hawker centres in Singapore as well as some high-end restaurants; price could be anything from as little as $1.50 to nearly $30 for a set of the famous Hainanese Chicken Rice at Chatterbox. Many popular chicken rice stalls like Loy Kee and Boon Tong Kee have established franchise or branches island wide.

The following series were taken from Tiong Bahru Boneless Hainanese Chicken Rice along Smith St, Chinatown. It was famous for its generous portion, $2/plate chicken rice and the many inexpensive side-dishes ($3-$5). The price had been revised upwards to $3/plate but fortunately, so had the serving. The rice is fragrant and the chicken is tender and juicy. The side dishes are pretty good too. It may not be the best and there are many better chicken rice out there but this outlet is definitely worth trying.

Deep Fried Pumpkin

The one side dish that we have never failed to order from this outlet is the Deep-fried Pumpkin. This is not an unusual dish and is commonly available but my family love to have it here ~ we love the crunchiness and yet the pumpkin retains its softness and is juicy and sweet.
