Chashu Ramen
Ramen is a Japanese dish of noodles served in broth and is originated in China. There are many variety of broths and sometimes it determine the success of the ramen. Toppings such as sliced pork or chashu (simmered instead of bbq pork), deep-fried seafood, scallops, chicken, dried seaweed and green onions are commonly used. Almost every locality or prefecture in Japan has its own specialty and is different from each other.
This was taken in Ajisen Ramen in Hougang Mall, the ramen and chashu is good but the broth is a lil too salty to my liking.

agree... Ajisen sucks... shd check out reputed ones like Marutama (Liang Court, the Central, United Square), Tampopo (Liang Court), Ippudo (Mandarin Gallery) and Santouka (the Central). The ramen is much better, and is presented in various other manners.
aiyo.... don't waste $$$ on ajisen ramen........ got plenty of other ramen stalls much better den ajisen....

In this case is the food don't do your photos justice lol
Have tried Santouka in Cuppage Terrace (almost a year ago), the soup was too salty (worst thn Ajisen), I had to add some hot water to make it edible :embrass: Yet to try the Central outlet tough...

Pasta
Was in Vivo City last weekend and it was really crowded during dinner time. Mussel Guys was the only place without queue, although we didn't have great experience from our previous visit, my boys did enjoy their pasta. So in we went and regretfully, there was no improvement where the food is concerned but slightly better service.
We ordered the house special platter (which consist of deep-fried assorted seafood of mussels/prawns/calamari, chicken wings, wedges and spring-rolls), chicken linguine, mushroom and vegetable pasta. Honestly, only the vegetable pasta is worth mentioning. The platter (at $22.90) was a big flop ~ overcooked and tasteless, the mussels have that funny smell and the chicken was as hard as rock. Most of the dishes come in set (with soup & dessert) and are cheaper thn ordering a-la-carte, the set menu however, was not provided and we have to ask for it
