Bokeh Monster Thread

Hi Shizuma.

A little perhaps. Look carefully at the orbs & the transition, you may see some rings within rings.

Bokeh is a very subjective matter, I don't delve in it much, I just enjoy looking at all the nice different bokeh shots from so many types of lenses from all the contributors.

You can evaluate the bokeh by taking a series of shots of the same subject at different apertures and selecting the one which is better.

Still a nice kitty shot btw. ;)

thanks for the encouragement!

You are welcome Shizuma.

Some shots for tonight.

Thanks ngwmk, I like to shoot children whenever I can.

Nice kitty shizzyrir, it looks more like little leopard than a kitty. Nice shot.

That's a nice shot of the ice monkey devilry, cheeky expression and nice blur on the ice and heavy winter coat. ;) Its has a piercing stare too.

Thanks it's a bengal cat ^^ belongs to my friend.

I like the cat photo. very nice bokeh too. with manual focus lenses it's more challenging to lock on focus.

the monkey pics is sensational. the dynamic hair and precipitation (not sure water or snow ) fades slowly and subtle into bokeh background.

bokehlicious 5 stars *****

Leica Summilux M 35mm f/1.4 ASPH Pre FLE (11874) on Sony A7

MC Rokkor 58mm f/1.2 on Sony A7

It is No Jupiter pedigree Thoth & Pinholecam, it is just a plain old Nikkor 85mm f/1.4, shot it at f/2.

How did you mount the Leica 35mm Sumilux on the Sony, Thoth? Via a Leica to Sony adapter or the Leica lens mount need to replaced?

Nice shots for tonight Thoth, what's the last shot? Animatronic toy hand? It has a 3D effect.

Nikkor. Nice pedigree.

I mount d lux 35/1.4 via d hawk factory M to E mount helicoid adaptor that enable me to shorten d minimum focus distance of d lens from 0.75m to 0.2m.

The last pic was shot at universal studio singapore specifically at d transformer theme ride.

Zeisser... U just got too many XMM shots wif all your Zeiss lenses... LOL

How about this little xmm then :bsmilie:

Thanks for the info.
I can only tell that its not a J9 Sonnar look, certainly more modern rendering and finer drawing style.
Nice smooth bokeh.

I'm also Pentax fan cat. I wonder if anyone here is shooting the legendary super tak 50/1.4 8-element lens

Hmm... I should try to get one.
Its the earliest version of their 50mm and said to be a Planar killer where (Jap) pride was more important than profit and Pentax lost money for every one of this lens made.
I passed on it many times because I have the A50/1.4 which is the same optically as the latter 7 element Takumar and the 8 element one does not clear the 5D mirror.

From the A50/1.4, Pentax kept the same 7/6 optical formula till today.

It's really cheap though but difficult to get good copy.
