sorry to hijack. i bought my sb600 from bally photo. they warned me not to use rechargables for flashlight. according to the manual, it says that NiMH rechargables are fine (what i am using now). so how.? :dunno:

Yes rechargeables are indeed recommended. BTW rechargeables usually are NiMH, same for my Eneloops and GPs.

Ok so if i am looking to buy some rechargeables (first time) for my 430EX i will need 4 of them.. Probably Eneeloops since theres so much raves about these batteries, how much am i looking to set myself back by? Including the charger, and where can i get it from cheapest now? I dont care if you bought yours from where last time i just want to know the cheapest place to get it now.

anyone??

Another one to try is onlineshop. I just placed my order for 4 x AA, with shipping by normal post costs just $1 more.

their reckyo's are cheaper (before delivery charges) compared to challenger's prices too.

Haha. Bally. Haha.

Just use rechargeable NiMHs. They're fine, and very cost effective.

Play nice. If you don't care, chances are people won't care about you either.

Actually best to use rechargeables. Alkalines recycle slower than NiMH!!!

Check ebay singapore for eneloop batteries. There is 1 guy selling those batteries online. He does delivery too.

No vested interest.

yup.. stick to the manual, use rechargeables, cheaper than disposable and environment friendly also. =)

i have both eneloops and the powerex 2700. for planned shoots etc where i can plan in advance, then i will use the powerex. eneloops are only 2000 rated, so for for heavy duty flash use i prefer the powerex.

however, for emergency use of flash where say i havent charged up powerex, thats when i will use eneloops.

btw, exxternal battery packs will come in useful for times when u need to use flash extensively and I think they're worthwhile investments (have gotten them for my 580EX and SB80DX-my backup flash).

For me, it's the Eneloops for long intense events shoots. Max can last me over 900 shots.

Hi all,

so it's recommended for us to use rechargables for flash?

looking for some batt for my 430EX...

which brand is good?

rechargeables are the best in terms of cost savings and charging times. the posts above shd give u a good enough indication of which brands are preferred....

Hi Snoweagle

Do you mean 4 AA Eneloop can last 900 shots or with battery pack???

For 900 shots, that is really impressive....

It is an option I am also considering..... Really felt the need for it when I was shooting the last event.....
