some photograhers use energizer as standby batteries in case the rechargable one failed.

Yup, I use alkalines (energizer or other brands) as a backup too, for times when my rechargeables run out or I didn't want to carry charger with me (e.g. travelling). Recycling rate is slower with alkalines vs NiMH rechargeables but still alright.

Ok so if i am looking to buy some rechargeables (first time) for my 430EX i will need 4 of them.. Probably Eneeloops since theres so much raves about these batteries, how much am i looking to set myself back by? Including the charger, and where can i get it from cheapest now? I dont care if you bought yours from where last time i just want to know the cheapest place to get it now.

anyone??

u probably could be more polite.

Something I find with the 580 EX is that it recycles fast when shooting occassional flash shots. But when shooting continuously (couple of hundreds within 1 hours), the recycling times is longer than 550 EX (both using external battery pack CP-E3). Thought it could be due to the 580EX overheating faster vs the 550 EX. Not sure if the 580 EX II is better in this aspect.

Hey mpenza, I share your sentiment. When it came to the night event, indoors the refresh time dropped quite a bit on the 580, missed a few moments. Maybe I hav the bad habit of multiple shoots, so the 3rd frame would normally not fire too.

AP Funan for Sanyo enelope

that's great, Enegizers has rechargable ones.

By now, the sanyo 2 batt and 4 batt charger would have cost more than 21?

Not necessary, price might have reduced.

In fact even now, the price of the Eneloops is very reasonable.

plus the alot of gd reviews on those batteries, they sure worth the investing. =)

should be over the weekend bah =D can i mentioned SnowEagle recommend to buy @ AP? +D

Haha no use one lah....if like that everyone also do the same. They also won't know who's Snoweagle. ;p

let them know u bring biz to them.. so that they can give u better rates. =D

sorry to hijack. i bought my sb600 from bally photo. they warned me not to use rechargables for flashlight. according to the manual, it says that NiMH rechargables are fine (what i am using now). so how.? :dunno:
