Just curious what is in your opinion the best overall Minolta lens in terms of sharpness ,Bokeh and etc.

Hmm... I think the Minolta 135mm f/2.8 [T4.5] STF is a good candidate. Certainly in terms of bokeh. Sharpness wise I'm not that sure but I think it's extremely sharp from the examples i've seen.

Cheers
QX=)

for sharpness, most claim that 100mm f/2.8 Macro is the sharpest, some even claim it's too sharp for portrait shot

what about for non-G zooms? what's the sharpest out there? minolta af 28-75?

I tried getting 28-75mm F2.8 in Singapore all sold out. CP has 1 28-70mm F2.8 G lens if I'm not wrong.

I wonder what Lens Sony has waiting for us or will it be rehash Minolta lens.

Some photo taken with 28-75mm recently during a fashion shoots, all shots around f/4

I think it's the sharpest amongs my other zoom lens, except 80-200mm or other prime lens. But sometime I still seem to be having trouble focus correctly under low light condition

only got 28-70 f/2.8 g. the 28-75 is not a g lens

I think if you ask me to choose just 1 lens.. I will definately say 70-200 f2.8 APO G SSM.

Sharpness and bokeh is pretty darn good...

I use it a lot for wedding shoot.

Yup, it's not a G lens, just a normal f/2.8 D lens, no money for the G one. Got it from US through the Adorama sales.
But there is one 2nd hand 28-70mm f/2.8 G selling at B&S

My vote is for the STF 135... Nothing else the competition has even come close...

Something that Sony will not likely reproduce...

I don't think one can honestly say any lens to be the best all the time.
The best lens for each moment is the one I can have in hand and use there and then that will allow me to capture and portray to the best of my ability the mood and theme of my chosen subject.

hehe im oso loving mine... but wouldnt hurt to haf a backup lens thats lighter but just as sharp, not to mention faster...

seems like the 28-75 f/2.8 is quite good... unfortunate that there doesn't seem to be any to be had locally... hope sony re-intros it, or even better, comes out with a wider one like 18-70 f/2.8 or somethin
