  2. TME : 11-18mm (FF if possible), 17-35mm, 24-85mm, 70-200mm, 100-400mm, 50mm prime + 2xTC + extension tube (more versatile) (budget dream combo), I'm just missing the 11-18mm at the moment...
  3. Drudkh : 16mm f/2.8, 28-75 f/2.8, 70-200 f/2.8 (MIA :bsmilie: ), 1.4X TC, 5600HS
  4. BBTM : 16mm f/2.8, 17-35mm f/3.5, 35mm f/1.4, 50mm f/1.4, 85mm f/1.4, 28-75mm f/2.8 (Sigma 24-70 f/2.8), 100 f/2.8 macro (Tamron 180mm F/3.5), 300mm F4. All less than $2k, still can afford but take time ;p (Only 17-35 slightly more) Maybe in 5 yrs time. Every mth save $200 can liao.

if the picture output remains perfectly normal, i think u better dont send them in for servicing.

It can never be 100% pin point sharp when a lens is send for servicing..

Main reason is that I want to put it to sleep after getting a wide lens. But this lens is solid, even made in 1988! (Guess some of those ppl here also haven't born  )

Here is my take

1. Sigma EX15-30 (may replace it with Sigma EX12-24) wish minolta has one for full frame!!
2. Tamron SP 28-105 f2.8 (or Minolta 28-135 f4-4.5),
3. Minolta 80-200 f2.8 APO,
4. Minolta 50mm f2.8 & 100mm f2.8 macro,
5. Minolta 500mm f8,
6. 50mm f1.4,
7. 2x TC (tamron SP).

I am happy with my combo for now...

Hart

I dream for... :D
17-35G, 24-105D, 70-210 f/4

But realistically, this is prolly all I can think of... :(
17-35D, 24-105D

Its a real shame that there ain't 70-210 f/4s

Saw one selling at ebay at US$299..
:)

Quite funny hor.

KM does have a 200mm F2.8 lens and why don't they make it to macro mode but come out with a 200mm F4 macro? My macro mean 1:1 type, not normal one hor. ;p

I'm a bit suprise that no one indicate that 11-18mm lens is a must have in the list..

During my trip to Korea, I really like the kit lens 18-70mm.. especially at 18mm..
Initially I thought I will be using the bundled zoom lens 75-300mm.. but at the end, it's the kit lens 18-70mm for almost 99% of the photos taken..

I'm thinking of getting one 11-18mm lens.. so far seem like Tamron lens is the cheapest..;)

I did... but it's not full frame but DT lens... for APS-C sensors. Costs a bomb too at $800 thereabouts.

FYI. 17-35 F2.8-4 is not for SLR but for DSLR due to the crop factor. The TRUE 17-35mm F3.5 from KM cost over $2k and hardly could find it nowadays. Distortion level for this lens is slow and if you got the $, you may try it. ;p

Wrong the current KM 17-35mm f/2.8-4 is a full frame lens. The G lens is much better, much better distortion control as well... the Sigma has pretty terrible distortion control plus noticeable light fall off at the corners, vignetting slightly.
