nice work zeckson, she's really a lovely model and I love the setup and lighting. I don't fancy all the pp though, some of which looks too fake. but still a series worth taking a look at

That's pretty immature of you. Why does someone have to have a portfolio better than yours to comment? Everyone's entitled to have their personal opinions, be it good or bad, on something as subjective as photographs. By challenging him to prove his portraiture abilities, you come across as a little petty and show an utter lack of humility.

Just like anything in life, accept everything with humility, no matter how skilled or experienced you might be compared to the person who's criticizing you.

I agree that Night86mare sounded a little too snide with his "whatever floats your boat" remark, but strip down the packaging of the language, and his post was merely to comment on how he didn't like a particular aspect of your photos. Not that I agree with what he said (I don't think bloatedness is much of an issue for this series), but the way you retorted so defensively with muted hostility showed your lack of class, to be honest.

Someone once told me "embrace and value the criticisms more than the banal praises you receive, and this will help you grow in your profession." I'm a dancer btw, not a photographer, but I believe this advice is equally relevant to you.

Why should one treat humiliation with humility?
This boy has a long history of being insolent.
To be mature like you mentioned, let's us all stay out of this strifle.

Dear Zecson:
I have been enjoying this wonderful thread until someone try to take apart this splendor work piece.
I want to tell you beside the beatiful subject, the graffiti on walls has another set of interesting story to tell and it really caught my attention. Is that your house?

Great pics!

Are they for a brothel catalogue?

Nice series! i enjoy ur photos and hope one day i can work towards your level! cheers~

Interesting series. Nice model, interesting lighting setup n ambience.

But the post processing looks too fake for my liking. Go easy on the tone(burn n dodge) n colours.

Just take pic 24 for example, the subject looks copy n pasted because the bakground n the subject shares the same tonal values. Unless... that is your intention =)

anyway, just my humble 2 cents =)

Great pics!

???:nono:

Brothel?? Erm...if you read the whole thread, I personally do not think he expects the pics to be viewed as part of a brothel catalogue so how on earth does the term brothel come about???

That's good advice, Soozey. I am alright with comments. Good or bad. I can take them and swallow them down. But I am not prepared to tolerate any disrespectful words used. People who have known me knows that I am one of those few who can take in comments open-heartedly. But there is a limit to my threshold. I will not tolerate any insolent comments at all. Night86mare can totally condemn my images and I will not argue a single word about it. But the moment he started to be disrespectful, I will retaliate. I am human and I have emotions, feelings and I have sensitive spots. I also have a threshold level. Cross it and you will piss me off.

I would like to suggest you to stay off this and don't get yourself involved. Its just between him and me.

Thanks for standing by my side. Appreciate your understanding. Nope, it is not my house... Its in one of the boutique hotels here in Bangkok. :)

Great pics!

No, I never intended the images to be viewed as a brothel catalogue. I have done catalogues for brothels here, not like this.

Thanks for your help in clarification. :)

To TS: I can't comment on your works as i'm a newbie but they all look stunning to me. Nice!!

Btw, not to the TS: I think harsh and constructive comments are good as we all can learn, but it can be done in a polite manner. Being someone with high post counts or 'very pro' doesn't mean you can comment rudely. Most of us doesn't have this problem at all, if I have...I will change...before i comment again. Shall we start a courtesy campaign?

I share your view too. He doesn't really see from other's perspective on things. It is a waste of time arguing with him. :bsmilie:

Thank you for your comments.

And please don't try to start another pigeon thread or pig thread somewhere. It only emphasizes your pettiness. Don't deny it. I know what you did last time.

I :bsmilie: saw his "goat thread" before.

And one exclusive thread dedicated to him from his "supporters" in Kopitiam! That was immediately after the incident when he had made a mistake by posting a photo of the face of a disfigured woman and making fun of it and was reprimanded by me for doing so . He can give me all kinds of excuses for doing so and yet refused to admit the mistake he had made.

Zeckson, I like the set. Though I lack the skill to comment, I simply like the photos because they definitely draw my attention. I have always been a fan of your work.

Anyway, I did not expect the evolution this thread has taken. But I for one feel that often, courtesy has disappeared here. Criticism can be done with respect and tact... that is all I'm saying. But when I raised an eyebrow regarding this before, I was simply told to get out of the kitchen if I couldn't stand the heat. Not much help really for newbies like me or other people trying to get encouragement in pursuing this hobby. Nonetheless, I have tried to live with it the best I could here in CS. But it sure would help if snide remarks were limited.

The comments made by him seems general and petty to me. Sounds like he has a personal grudge against the TS. :nono:

Well, all in all, I do feel that this series is a fine piece of work.

Art is subjective by nature, but no matter what, (dont mind the comment..) sh!t-flinging should be avoided.. While comments and critique help people improve, they should actually be phrased like C&C rather than like insults..

Just a simplistic point of view.

Wow.. I never step into Clubsnap for so long and so much drama. :bsmilie:

I know peanuts about photography, so I am not fit to make any constructive comments about the photography.

The number of hits on his threads speak for itself. If his photos are bad, then does it mean 6000 people are all blind or have bad taste?

People should respect each others' works. You can criticize someone's works constructively AND STILL be polite/ tactful. Being rude, disrespectful or sarcastic is a deliberate choice.

I believe the line was crossed here. Please have some BASIC RESPECT for others' works. I believe Zeckson DOES NOT expect EVERYONE to like his works. And its impossible for someone to be liked by EVERYONE. No matter how good you are, there will be people who will find something bad to say. Sad but true.

If anyone dislikes Zeckson or his photos so much, then just dont look. He is taking time out to share his works and tips for newbies and people who are keen to learn more. Its not like he's earning money from every "thumbs up" he gets.

Anyway this is just my 2 cents, if you dont agree with me, thats fine. You're entitled to your opinions. Cheers.
