With reference to night86mare's link to a post of the thread,
I would suggest that people read the whole thread.

It highlighted certain mindset of the LG covering at the event.

heheh, from here can see...
even that last post shows something...
that not everyone can have the enjoyment of taking their idol's pic themselves,
only the "pro" can..heheh!
not that i am picking up a fight, just writing some concerns and hope for improvements...:D

So who's got the record for the tallest ladder so far?

Your ladder hidden behind mine? Tough, should have got here earlier and bought a taller ladder. Or hired a bigger lorry to carry your taller ladder, earlier.

Silliness.

btw, if anyone bothers to search posts made by you, and the keyword "ladder", got a lot of interesting results.

seems like you are the LG member that doesn't use ladders.. :bsmilie: so they keep you in there to defend them? :bsmilie:

maybe someday you will be promoted beyond the first step. :bsmilie:
so now u getting rather personal....aren't u? those old thread u digged, u should let go of those as some of them are no longer around for such events shoot. it easy for u to be an armchair jury, judge and executioner sitting comfortably and typing sentences... dun u feel as much as maligned as when such a 'righteous' man like u get named? likewise those ladder users,, those in the back and at the corner just get maligned even if they dun blocked anyone?

I think this thread is getting far too personal.. =O

it will never be changed. on the part of the photographers who do it, they are wholly justified.

like you say, at most the event organisers can enforce a ban on ladders.

4 years from then, nothing's changed, at least not with regards to the attitudes of the people who practise such.

Everything takes time to change. Between the organizers, building management and photographers, the hardest to influence will be the photographers. Just as photographers insist on adopting an attitude of indifference at such events, eventually I see an opposing force in the form of certain members of the public who will take matters into their own hands. Al it takes is some shoving and jostling in a crowded mall and arguments and fights will ensue. This will eventually lead to the authorities coming down with a set of rules to govern the proper organization of such events, which may include not a total ban on ladders but a designated area for ladders.

People are often entrenched in their ways. It is difficult if not impossible to change a person, his ways, his thinking. I dont get worked up over ungracious behavior in our society for i know nothing much can be done to effect a change, primarily because the people themselves dont want to change. Cest la Vie.

maligned?

no, of course not. my conscience is clear, i'm afraid i have no guilt in lumping people who share the same beliefs together as part of an animal that is only concerned with itself, and is the embodiment of what i disdain in our society today.

am i getting personal? you said you were being maligned, i merely pointed out that you hung out with birds of the same feather.. maybe you did not partake in their actions often, but you applauded and egged them on.

i am merely clarifying my position on this whole issue, no one's getting personal here. ;)

well, let's see, the threadstarter was talking about people using ladders and standing in the front row anyways, thereby blocking others' view. from what i see from that thread, a bunch of LG shooters blocked fans from seeing their idol, and were happy to crow over the fact that they had a ladder, and even scolded the fans as being ill-mannered. what sort of attitude is that? and you endorse such behaviour? :nono::nono:

sure, if the ladder users stand at the side, stand at the back, and people kao beh them because they choose to stand behind them when they have choices to move elsewhere, those people deserve quite a few comments as well. but that was not what you posted about, so don't try to shirk responsibility for posts you have made clearly earlier on.

this is a situation... whereby lazy photographer who can't bother to come early for the show falsely accuse and condenmed all those who using the ladders. from the way the thread go on...it doesn't even matter if they are at 1st or 2nd row or had given way to the old and invalids...as long as they are on ladders...they will be labeled names by the 'righteous mobs' here.

so you mean your friends came early for the show and set up shop at the side? need to come early to set up shop at the side? come on........ we are not imbeciles.

this is a very good suggestion.:thumbsup:

i am certain that everyone will be happier in that way.. i mean, here we have a dissenting voice claiming that LG are more than happy to set up their ladders at the side. so putting it at the side only has benefits. the LG can live with it, the organisers get happy people, everyone gets to see the show without feeling like punching the ladders blocking their view... and wow! LG can even enjoy more sleep because they don't need to come early to stand in the front row.

eow,

i don't think you should assume that everyone here thrives on nothing more than forming an angry mob to attack others. i disagreed with your opinion that ladder users in the first row were hardworking people and this thread was started by unhappy photographers who arrived later than them. the point i was trying to make was that you are perhaps being a bit biased by knowing the people who engage in such practices.

maybe they are good people, maybe they have fine qualities, maybe they saved your life.. i do not know, but when they do whatever they do, they are deprieving others of a view. it is very different from the case where they are not using ladders. it is very different from a case where a girl is kicking up a fuss because the man in front of her is taller.

this is not a personal thing, and no one's being a "vigilante" per se, because everyone is just commenting, and this is rather different from some of the last threads i had quoted because no one's suggesting childish reactions such as pushing the photographers off the ladder, etc.

cheers.

Next time I call my man to sent a truck load of Indian workers to event and set up ladders first day in the morning, then I sell "yellow cow" ticket to those "event photographer".:bigeyes:

Bashing? Perhaps. It comes from resentment to practices carried out by those LG who belongs to the inconsiderate (not all) group.

But this thread is not just about a free-for-all bashing, it highlights the problem of inconsiderate (not all) ladder users.

What purpose does it serve?
1) Remind those inconsiderate (not all) LG of their actions, some who might be not totally conscious of what there are doing and genuinely did not mean their actions in the first place.

2) Throw up possible ideas to allow LG and the general public to co-exist in the same space without either party missing out on the action. e.g. ladder-users conciousously choose a spot where they do not block the majority of the people; or organisers to demarcate areas at the back/side exclusive to ladder users.

Notice I keep highlighting "inconsiderate (not all)", I think there are still considerate ladder users. The problem comes from the other group.

when is the next fashion show ? think newspaper friends want to get stories for their work, some maybe interviewed and pose pictures with their ladders.

To the LG it is "get the shot by any means" and along the way, they did forget that there are other people there who want to enjoy the show. Some consideration for others should be exercised

No consideration at all. TS & others, the only way to improve this kind of scenario is just to make them ashame on what they're doing. Snap shot them, take a simple video on their behavior post it online......I'm sure you can make. But it is a bit cruel of doing this here...on the other hand they were doing such cruel thing too during the shoot......they can make it....why we can't?

Ladder? Noobs...
