Bad experience with Pgs on step ladders

Ah don't worry. Next time to eliminate unwanted reflections I'll make sure to bring oodles of black cloth to mask out everything. There'll be a hole to shoot my lens through but for everyone else, tough. I'll make sure I get there in good time, if you see me there at this year's event, I'm actually reserving my spot for next year's ;)

If anybody needs me, I will be on the train, going to and fro from Jurong East and Pasir Ris till I get enlightenment.
Louts position at the doors. :)

to discard your laziness, at every station when the train doors open, you will do a circuit where you weave in and out of every train door from the back to the front. :nono:

My reason for starting this thread is to bring awareness to this unhealthy practice by the so called LGs. Judging by the no. of posts and reasonings and rebukes...i hope the LGs (that liked to hog the front rows) give themselves sometime to reflect on their behavior. As much as i'm inspired by friends and fellow photogs, i'm oso disappointed that such behavior exist and for the matter...many of them are lao jiaos.

Perhaps they really enjoyed themselves and they sure really seem to....they shud at the same time practice some social etiquette and set themselves up as not only good photographers but oso as good examples to newbies like us and even to the general public.

Told my colleagues about this thread of LGs, my colleagues gave me their views: Do these so call LG even read Clubsnap forum, if no, these already LGs are not being tackled. Maybe only bringing this matters to those who are reading CS forum, and who are becoming to be a future to be LG member, telling them to be considerate to others around them and reconsider using a ladder.

some of these LG do read clubsnap, they have already expressed their opinions about our opinions as "the righteous mob" supporting photographers who are "too lazy to arrive early" and are now making noise to express displeasure. :bsmilie::bsmilie:

like a wise man once told me, "say these people got use meh? if they would listen, in the first place, they would do such things?" :bsmilie:

Next time go early and set up scaffolding. Step ladder gang eyes will turn green

It is inconceivable that by this thread and this community alone that we would be able to bring about changes to this problem overnight. Your colleagues are right, not all who shoot at such events are members. They are some / or many who are outside the "catchment area".

However, by taking the 1st step to identify the problem here in CS and discussing possible solutions, it is hoped that events organizers, building management and even the the press will pick up the ball and run with it. After all, the problem is not just a case of "inconsiderate photographers" but rather a poor reflection of certain segment of our society. :)

look at some of the thread here http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=29
by looking at the angle of the shoot taken, you should be able to guess who are the LG :think:

Somehow, I don't if I should thanks them or dislike them... I thanks them is because now they posted their photos, I can enjoy the full pose since I couldn't see much that day. I dislike them is because they blocked my view! So irony...

Next time go early and set up scaffolding. Step ladder gang eyes will turn green

:thumbsup::thumbsup::bsmilie: Good idea.

Can bring it up to the Channel 8, Friday 10.30pm, Cian Xian Zuwe Zhong? :bsmilie:

nm nothing personal against u and not that it bother me a lot, personally feel that just in order make yrself look gd feel gd, u had the audacity/ cheek to falsely accuse those voicing their opinion as a part of the lg without any prove of any sort..that made u pretty much a dangerous person to be with.

when a person can justify others' wrongful actions with frivolous reasons,

to me, there is no difference between that person who supports that wrongful action, and the people who practise that wrongful action. ;)

if you had to lynch an afro-american to be considered part of the ku klux klan, instead of spouting nonsensical ideas of hate against race, or sitting on the sidelines and calling lynchings an act of "cleansing", then the ku klux klan would be much smaller than it actually is.

did i falsely accuse you? you ARE part of the ladder gang. you think that using ladders is entirely justifiable by "hardworkingness", "arriving early" and no one has any right to judge your friends for doing so. to me, you are no different from someone who actually uses ladders. and i don't care if you use ladders or not. ;)

btw, if anyone bothers to search posts made by you, and the keyword "ladder", got a lot of interesting results.

seems like you are the LG member that doesn't use ladders.. :bsmilie: so they keep you in there to defend them? :bsmilie:

maybe someday you will be promoted beyond the first step. :bsmilie:

in organised events, i feel the organisers have a role to play as well. if ladders are causing inconvenience to others then they should have them removed.

Why use ladder?????

Think tomorrow when i go watch movie, i will stand up and watch.....those behind me just too bad, who ask them to buy ticket so slow.

:bsmilie::bsmilie::bsmilie:

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

i don't think that will matter much,

they will just build a tall building there next time and meditate on top.

from high above, they will call down:

"you are so lazy! HAHAHA!" :bsmilie::bsmilie:

it will never be changed. on the part of the photographers who do it, they are wholly justified.

like you say, at most the event organisers can enforce a ban on ladders.

just look at previous threads, got repeated names... don't need to be too obvious hor:

http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=292422&highlight=ladder
http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=231425&highlight=ladder
http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=171423&highlight=ladder

4 years from then, nothing's changed, at least not with regards to the attitudes of the people who practise such.

With reference to night86mare's link to a post of the thread,
I would suggest that people read the whole thread.

http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=169536

It highlighted certain mindset of the LG covering at the event.

i can summarise that whole discussion in 1 chinese phrase:

唯我独尊

translation: only i come first.

p.s. don't forget, stepping on the first step of the ladder means that you are not part of the ladder gang.

we are all part of a community. when i shoot landscapes, even though i may not talk to the other photographers there when i do not know them, if they are in my way i will wait until they seem to have taken at least 2 or 3 shots... and if they have no sign of moving, i will move into what i think might be their frame, take 2 -3 shots quickly and find another foreground.

does this mean that if i am at the location (say, changi beach) first that i OWN the beach? so if people who arrive later are in my viewfinder, i should move forward and move into their viewfinder? obviously not.. that line of logic only leads to everyone submerged in water. everyone has opportunity to take shots, let's all take photos together, and think of the people who aren't photographers who just want to look at what's going on on stage.

*maybe* they don't appreciate it. *maybe* they don't appreciate that you are taking photographs that will win you some amount of satisfaction later on, but you should think of them. it is only polite to do so, as part of a *gracious society*.
