Oh, I have been, Dork. And gee, you're getting desperate and sounding very much like the mother of all trolls and posting pics of jugs etc etc...:bsmilie:

Dorkee, you really need to go out more often instead of trolling around these forums (go drink some Ice lemon tea perhaps) :bsmili

phew ! ...didn't break my promise not to OT again

Sorry for all the OT bros :embrass: ...and lets just ignore the Troll !!! :thumbsd:

I guess you are collecting post count. Also you reaffirm my belief such fanboy of that brand tend to behave arrogantly.

One minor reason why I choose KM/Sony. Total no respect for this sub-forum. :thumbsd:

Your last 5-6 post totally non-constructive/beneficial towards the thread topic and towards the alpha mount community.

Pple in this sub-forum can try to accept any criticism, provided, back-up with facts. We, unlike certain fanboys, will try not to worship the brand.

Name-calling only leads to suggest you are socially immature.

As much as I would welcome feedback, opinions and criticism from pple using other brands, you'd be better off giving your opinion in your appropriate sub-forum.

slipdisq, close this thread if you already get the info you need.

Let lionheart86 open his own thread to continue his/her ramblings.

Another one more apology for OT.

You can call it ramblings for what u want...Arrogance, immature, fanboy? I don buy that either. The fact of the matter is, bad ergonomics is subjective depending how well u know and how long you've used the camera. No one is discouraging anyone to not choose KM / Sony or go against the Alpha mount comm (you're been immature to suggest that!!). I have nothing against these brand. And no, there is no need to open another thread...Good, TS go close it!!!!!!

Sigh..

Part of the reason why I started this thread was because I'm getting pissed with all the brand-bashing, especially towards Sony. I had just joined the Sony camp a few weeks ago and despite having done my homework and giving it a few months of thought before deciding on the a55, everytime I read about a negative comment on Sony, I cant help but feel just a teeny bit doubtful about my choice. I'm pretty sure there are many other newbies who feel the same way I do.

As I've mentioned before, I've been to various car forums and bike forums, and have never seen people so passionate about the brand of kit that they own, to the extent of looking down on other brands. If you think about it, it is exactly this kind of thinking that leads to racism, sexism, ageism, and various other kinds of prejudice. Why can't we be more open to the cons AND pros of other brands? By all means, discuss and debate with supporting evidence and first-hand experiences. This would be more productive. From lurking around this forum for a few months, I noticed that the more senior and experienced members hardly get into any brand-bashing.

I really don't understand this CaNikon "elitist" mindset. Can somebody please enlighten me?

I'll keep this thread open for discussion..

Ergonomics is HIGHLY subjective, for everyone has different shaped and different sized hands.

Which is EXACTLY why the person quoted in the first post shouldn't have said what he said. Neither should anyone go around telling people to buy Sony only if they believe in aliens.

From what i understand, brand bashers mainly comes from canon fanboys, maybe because nikonians know that nikon uses sony sensor and bashing sony would be like slapping their own face.. whenever sony came out something that is praised by many, canonians would be afraid that they will lose out once again and start picking on every tiny bit.. And may even start commenting that buy sony only if you believe in aliens, which is obviously senseless, or something like " you'll never go wrong with canon or nikon" type of comments.. well, thats what i feel.

ah.. that guy you quoted is a great example of a fanboy, angry that the a55 has such performances packed in such a small sized DSLR or having to pay thousands for 10fps and a55 is only 1k+.. so they picked on the small built by saying it has bad ergonomics..maybe that guy got monster big hands that only those FF bodies can fit him nicely..hmm... :dunno:

Nope. It really all depends on what people are used to. To me, the Canons have poor ergonomics.

canon has poor ergonomics? i dont think so. canon doesn't have front dials like sony or nikon. at least you won't get accident change of aperture/shutter value.

Canon has front dials too, usually right behind the shutter release.

And FYI, having the front and rear dials is also considered GOOD ergonomics because it makes adjusting shutter speed and aperture in manual mode easy.

The placement of the Canon front dial makes me need to bend my finger awkwardly just to adjust. I find it to be a horrible location, compared to under the shutter release, where it's easy and natural for me to adjust values without looking away from the OVF.

I've never accidentally change anything with my a550... more a person problem than cam

Why accidental change of aperture/shutter value?

It's more of an ease to change aperture/shutter value.

I read some CSers comments based on assumptions while others based on experience having hold and used both brands. The latter comments holds more sense.

Brand bashing will never end. No one can change people's perceptions.

This thread can go on and on without any intent.

Like many CSers using the Alpha system, everyone have at least have been asked once by their peers or family why never get Canon or Nikon.

At least I know my reasons to spend my hard earned money on the Alpha system.

Switching brands later on only incur a waste of money and time researching and using the system.

I know of peers switching or buying their first camera purely based on recommendation, without actually trying various brands ergonomics and ease of use..
