i feel bad...so i call the shop Wing Shing Photo Supplies where i bought my canon gears there, they quoted me for 800mm at HK96,780.00 as i dont want to disturb my client in HK. No stock in shop, need to order prior to collect.
Hey guys,
I am just back from hong kong.
Got my Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 VC from Wing Shing Mongkok at HKD 3850,
which is ard $680 sgd. I had taken up the 1 year international warranty instead of 5 years local warranty.
Echo photo quoted HKD 3380 for local set without international warranty.
Man Shing and WIng Shing both is selling at the same price.
Hope the above info will help those who will be going over to HK.

Hi BrownInu, I don't think you get chopped by Wing Shing. Take a look at the HK price guide here: http://www.price.com.hk/product.php?p=113448Hello Inevitz, I wonder how did you manage to appear non-tourist to them? Did you manage to bargain with them? After knowing the price which you had paid, I feel like a carrot. Lol
I think I do look like a tourist to them. Holding a camera bag, can't converse in Cantonese at all. Struggling with my mandarin....
*sigh*
A lot of the smaller shops are operating with very competitive price. However, you will need to be very careful in dealing with them. You will noticed they usually post the price on price.com.hk with full contact info. They are actually using the website to advertise their service.Hi CS TAN do you know if it the shop will honor the price if I bring a printout of this website? I can't speak cantonese very well don't want to kena chop.
In the website there's also this company called Apex which is cheap and quite near my hotel. Noticed that it is not included in your list of shops in the other thread, do you know if it can be trust?

You will noticed there are two difference price, one for local set and one for gray set (water goods). Obviously, Wing Shing is selling the local set so it is around $3,800. The gray sets are selling around $3,100
For the gray sets, one needs to be very careful to ensure they can really get warranty from SG Tamron since most of the gray sets are sold without any manufacturer warranty (just shop warranty). As for the local sets, Tamron Hong Kong provides 5 years local warranty but you can convert that 3-year local warranty into 1-year international warranty. If you need more detail, please refer to my HK shopping guide post#3
