Availability of Nikon D800 in Singapore

Some info for those who are thinking of getting a good SD card for D800.
I tried using extreme pro 95mb/s and Ultra II 15mb/s.
Using raw 14bits raw + jpeg fine, using 4 fps , there doesn't seem to have any diff for taking around 3-4 pics at one go.
Perhaps the buffer good enough? Maybe someone can try too?
But maybe this don't apply to those who burst continuously in high speed required context.

Did further test.
Ultra 15mb/s can take up to 15 shots continuously. After this super slow. Takes about 45 secs to write 15 shots in.
95mb/s can take up to 15 shots continuously. But can only feel the slowness around 16-17 shots. Takes around 22 secs to write 16 shots in.
All pics are set to 14bits raw + jpeg fine, using 4 fps.
So depending on what kind of pictures you take, you may not need the best card out there.

Not sure about that, but I do feel the possibility of that is high.
By the time which shop has it or not clears, PC show will be on this 07-JUN-12 to 10-JUN-12 at Suntec. I hope I am not wrong!.

The difference lies in video, not photos. But what you experienced in slow write is definitely there. The only good thing is, D800 has actually a large internal memory buffer to hold 12 to 14 shots before filling up. The faster ur card can write, the longer u can hold down ur shuttle taking exposures before the buffered memory needs time to be written into the card.
Essentially, most photography does not need such high speed card, unless u are shooting sport actions (or the extreme, trying to catch the motion sequence of firing a bullet), the buffer of a pro grade camera should suits most needs, and I believe the buffer space is also one of the premium u are paying for in a camera. Just compare D300s and D7000, similar FPS but D300s will outlast shooting in sequence.
Videography, however, is a different ball game. U need all the high speed memory card especially when taking high frame rates (60p) I'm not an expert in videography and what I just say may not be entirely correct, ur what I can be sure is the high memory writing speed is essential.
