Availability of D800E in Singapore

My view is why limit yourself to one shop on waitlist.. esp those that need to pay deposit.. like that you are tied to the shop and no advantage.

I would prefer to just walk-in.. scout around.. more chances.

..... some salesmen ask you to pay deposit so that they can meet their monthly sales quota ......... later (much later) they tell you that there is no stock and simply refund you the money .........

My past experience is that when a shop has no stock, they anyhow hantam a low price. When you go back, they will say "where got? You hear wrongly is it? Anyway, we give you a good deal lah..." - that way they stand a better chance that you will go back.
