Hahaha... Once you manage to find D800, the grip becomes hard to find again...

This will be one camera I'll only buy 3rd party grip. There's simply no reason to slap $400++ at the bottom of the camera so that I don't need to chicken wing when shooting portrait....

3rd party grip will come and then the price of md-b12 will be expected to soften abit ......

This crosses my mind too. In the end, I go for the original because I do not want to damage the D800E and also, I go for the consistent look of the original grip with the camera body. I agree the grip is too expensive given the limited features.

I bought the grip on the same day I bought the D800E. Now I am at Batam without the grip to reduce the weight since this was a family trip but I can tell you, I regret I didn't bring the grip along. It wasn't so much the chicken wing when shooting vertical but the comfort level could be better with the grip. :P

So I guess I paid about $50 bucks more. This is insane for an insanely crazy priced item. I must be insane. But not having a grip is simply not an option for me. And sorry, third party grips are just not acceptable

any reason to wait? for price drop? i think might be a long wait ..looking at the stocks going out. so how many months r u willing to wait?

Thanks, just gotten it from 2.0 Courts.

Cannot wait liao lah!!

Chicken Wing sounds good for me till 12 months installment finished. Flap away!!!~

Still waiting for the call.

Where else we can find this D800E-lusive? Got info must share! I suspected certain shops just sell to the walk-in buyer while keep those on the list waiting... true? no?

LOL den why bother to keep a waiting list???

I got mine through walk in. Shops with wait list advised me not to wait because the list is very very long.
