Availability of D800E in Singapore

I just got the D800E from RITZ camera in Chinatown. Happened to walk in and ask for availability and they happened to have one available. Got it for $4575 but since I do not have enough cash, I had to pay by credit card which is 3% more. Eventually paid $4711 for it which is not too bad a price since no need on wait list and also below RRP. Look for Roy and he said one set coming in next week (not reserved yet).

Today I went to Challenger at NEX and ask for D800e. The person said S$4988. With membership it is S$4968. I ask him if the difference is only S$20. He said yes, plus they give like S$60 or S$80 voucher.
So where is that S$300 difference? Anyway they do not have any unit so I didn't buy.

It's true. Before I got my D800 yesterday, I went to Funan Digital Mall and they told me it's only $20 discount.

It seems that the time difference between Tomcat & Crazypaladin is a few days only...:think:
And can see that when Tomcat brought the 800E, it is when the new batch of stocks come in. So they start to sell cheaper, when stock becomes low, they push back up the price...:thumbsd:
My take is...grab it when the next batch of new stock comes...!!

You are not the only one bro. I was quoted with $4688 for D800e and $4448 (member price) for D800 on Monday evening 30th Apr. But since they got no ready stock and unknown availability, while my courts order was confirmed arriving, I did not pursue on the D800e.

By the way, Alan Photo at SLS is selling the MB-D12 at $497. Cheapest so far for this vertical grip.
