Auntie picks fight with girl despite being given Reserved Seat

we should remove all the seats in the mrt so all will be standing up, no more fighting for seats...fair and square isn't it? :bsmilie:

By then we will all be sitting on the floor or we bring our own chairs :p

STOMP has removed the video from the link. Too late. It is on Youtube. Even if they remove from Youtube, MANY would have a copy.
Singaporean older woman argues with younger woman over priority seat - YouTube

Merely a harmless cat-fight arising from stress in our society. In Singapore we have female cat-fights on MRT trains.
Just a Singaporean females' way of releasing tension.
They got more serious fights in the South Korean Parliament and Taiwanese Parliament. Now Thai Parliament wants to follow their examples.

Wondering what would have happened if the timid looking guy sitting next to the auntie had stepped in between the two quarrelling women and tried to be peacemaker.

After 1 day it is not news-worthy anymore and few would be interested. So the girl and the auntie need not worry too much that they are now famous on Youtube.

then it must be a very heartless world you wish to live in. one without charity, compassion, morals or manners.
just a world revolving around money. a world in which if you can't pay or afford to pay, don't expect to be cured, or helped in any way.
a world in which everything goes to the highest bidder. everything has a price, everyone can be bought.
a world in which it is better to receive than to give.
all that matters is how much money you have and are willing to pay.

thanks but no thanks. i prefer to live in an imperfect, more compassionate world.

There should not be designated “reserved” seats because the pressure to give up a seat lies completely on the incumbent, but to attain true social grace, every able-bodied-seat person should WANT TO give up the seat. The “reserved” seat system places undue expectations on the incumbent while freeing everyone else of guilt. The chap seated next to “reserved” seat should be as eager to rescue a weaker fellow man. The “reserved” seat system is a clear sign that we lack grace and therefore need to be told exhibit some.

When my elderly folks need to travel, they avoid jostling with the peak crowds and they are happy to do so. When I’m expecting I also avoid MRT/Bus during peak hours. I drive or take a cab instead. I don’t wish to be a hazard to myself and the public. Nobody owes me a sacred seat; I’m not special. But if someone offers me one, I am grateful.

Yes, it is a heartless world that I live in, and it’s the reality. I don’t live in Utopia. And I’ve come to accept that MONEY CAN BUY EVERYTHING. If I can’t buy it, I cannot expect others to give it up to me. If someone wants to give it to me, that’s great! But he shouldn’t be doing it out of obligation or social pressure.

If I’m the most talented photographer in the world, it doesn’t mean that I deserve to own the best photographic equipment. A wealthy amateur shooter who owns the best gear doesn’t owe it to me to give it up. He owns them because he has the MOOLAH! If he shares it with me….. then, thank you.

The first and second sentence quoted contradict each other though I take your point that no one should expect anything from anyone else. That, however, has little to do with your warped concept that money pushes everything.

Coincidentally (or not?!) this morning there was a new ad on the MRT platform's TV about giving your seat to an elderly lady..

i going to Miranda (Chevron House) later to pay this auntie a "visit" lol

Today while listening to radio 100.3, the guest in the talk show says Singapore netizen not as fierce as in other countries, like Hong Kong and Taiwan, even China. It was mentioned that if the same event happened there, the Auntie will already be "dug" out by paparazzi or even the netizens themselves, and her address, work place etc will be plastered all over papers :)

We are still a very kind society in that regards. Rant online, then forget it in 2 weeks. (Nobody talks about Ferrari China lady now Lolz)

Luckily the girl is not Hosehboh and the guy is not Alex Ong.
Hosehboh: i slap you ah auntie
Alex Ong: get out from mrt!! . Lol

Last night, I noticed that a few people are avoiding the reserved seats on the train.
A lot of people standing even with a few vacant reserved seats

Reserved seats? Heck..its way overrated as it seems to me. If I need a seat...even if there's only reserved seats left. I'll just take it. Problem is..as long i see people (that i feel or know who needs) the seat more than me.. ill stand up and give it to them. I'll just stand up and offer them.. take it or not..its their decision..ive already give up my seat here. Should any other people take or grab the seat because the needy man/woman dont want. I dont care already..

But hey. This dont only apply only to the reserved seats. See.. If you are sitting on a non-reserve seat and see the same thing coming. Does that mean you cant offer your seat? I always do..

But what irks me is.. Most people dont. Why? Because they are selfish or they think..hey im not sitting on the reserve seat..so i dont have to give up my seat. Worst..i seen it with my eyes. This auntie (come on she is not that old or disable etc) actually wake that little dude up (who is sitting on a reserve seat) to ask him to give up his seat for the older man. Seriously..what is this? Cant she jolly well just give up her own seat? I really dont get it...

To add on..seems like almost everybody in Singapore cant afford to stand...once there are seats available or once the door open you see people rushing in to grab a seat...many often if you realize.. once one stood up and goes off..all eyes will be on the available seat (suddenly they have the adrenaline to walk so fast!)

If not you even see people at the other cabin with red eye rushing for the seat (Epic...and i especially love the expression on their face once the seat is taken by somebody else.its epic and has become something i enjoy watching on everyday basis.its priceless). Once they got the seat. They WONT let go until they alight. But they know..he/she needs the seat more..so what they do? They just act blur/busy..."slp"..or worst..stare at the younger people..expecting them to give up their seats.

So how? Next time all age under 35 or 30..sit on the floor huh? Quite pissed with selfish and inconsiderate commuters like this..

All Garmens fault.
Never monitor SMRT properly and let them take away all the seats on the MRT to make standing spaces and squeeze in more commuters. :D

Anybody know the girl's facebook? Want to friend her. i think she is damn cool.
